Another Newb - shokenore - 06-04-2014

Hello All
After having a most hateful and quite expensive experience with a Vauxhall dis-astra I have gone all French and got the Mrs a 1.9.
I let her chose this time so hopefully no comeback Dodgy

Picked it up Friday night and spent the best part of Saturday cleaning it.

Only a few immediate issues to be taken care of once I get rid of the quite unique aroma of beer and wet dog left from the previous owner, namely radio code and batteries for the key fob.

Looking forward to using the forum to gain the information and insight required
to keep the pug and therefore the Mrs happy.

Thanks for the welcome along.
Just got back from spasda with some batteries for the keyfob.
Got a pocketful of cash from the sale of the dis-astra.

Happy days.

Thanks for the love Blush

the only plans I have at the moment are to get the radio to work and the keyfob to work the doors.
I'm hoping I can find the answers I need here.
Other than that before I go fiddling too much I want to get to know her.
It is just a welcome relief not to have to check the oil level every day or chuck down cement dust on the growing oil stain on the drive.

I love the fact that it has the mechanical fuel pump and that the engine looks remarkably easy to work on as I will be doing the maintenance and repairs myself.

But the Mrs is happy with it so it is a win.

i managed to fit a after market radio. the original one was to boring.
the key fob can be replaced. try ebay but make sure that your car is for your car. phase 2 and phase 3 keys may differ. (i read that on this forum) lol
I know an ebayer who sells pug parts. very reliable!
