Handbrake & traction lights on dash? - MIKE-FORD - 05-04-2014

After disconnecting my battery and then reconnecting my handbrake and traction light are on all the time, I have taken it to the local garage and as the car has a remap their ecu reader can't connect, any ideas on how to turn the lights off and no not take bulbs out?

Sure your battery terminals are secure? And you haven't done anything else other than remove the battery?

Oh and its not a traction control light. Its ABS Wink

Hopefully your engine remap isn't on the ABS ECU.... lol So I cant see why diags wont read tbh.

I have no idea they just connected it up and there system couldn't read anything and said it must be cos the remap as there system can only rear standard Ecu?? Would the laptop I had the remap done with read it?

Hmm, seems odd to me.

No, the mapping software (Galletto etc) won't read faults unfortunately.

RE: Handbrake & traction lights on dash? - MIKE-FORD - 05-04-2014

He has the software on it to read the ecu aswell

RE: Handbrake & traction lights on dash? - Toms306 - 05-04-2014

Which software? If its Peugeot Planet etc then yeah it should read fine.

RE: Handbrake & traction lights on dash? - MIKE-FORD - 05-04-2014

He said mpps software?

RE: Handbrake & traction lights on dash? - Toms306 - 05-04-2014

MPPS is just map flashing software like Galletto as far as I know. It cant read faults.

RE: Handbrake & traction lights on dash? - MIKE-FORD - 07-04-2014

Anyone else have any idea on why these lights have come on my dash?

Handbrake & traction lights on dash? - Razorback_Rob - 10-04-2014

Checked all fuses etc? Just an idea. The handbrake light can also indicate other brake faults like it can come on for low brake fluid not saying it's that but I'd say something must've popped when removing battery as I can't see what else would have done it.
