My brakes are squealing when I brake smoothly, getting quite annoying now I dont have a clue how to stop it

take the pads out 1 side at a time;
file a small chamfer on all 4 side of the brake pad----rub the pad on a paving stone if you don't have a file
apply some copperslip grease to the back of the pads and to the ends were they fit into the caliper carrier.
refit and do the other side
