Do I need to remove my side skirt to take wing off - Moh - 30-03-2014

Could anyone who has replaced a wing kindly tell me if the side skirt needs to come off in order to remove the bottom bolt? and also how are these side skirts held on?

Yes.

You could undo the first 4 or so bolts going back to the rear of the car, but to avoid damage it is best to remove it fully.

Just bear in mind there are rivets that will need drilling out.

no!
i got mine off without fully removing the sill skirt
think i removed the firs two rivets under and the first screw above which left enough room to flex the skirt enough to get the wing out

You must have been lucky then.

Every skirt I have tried that method with has begun to crack under the seals at the base of the door. Old plastic gets brittle with time. Guess yours are in a better way.

My skirts are on with screws which I'm actually happy about
