S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Teddy - 29-03-2014

Right picked this up for £250 from a lad in belper who has done most off the hard work fitting the 1.9 engine and looks a really gd job from what I can see. Plans is taking the front mount off for time being till I can find a smaller 1 fitting a 11mm Bosch then a s1 xsi body kit then full respray does need a lot off body work and needs to go a lot higher as what as shit job trying to get it any we're as sump is about a inch of floor. This is a long term project as I am going in the army so not rushing it Big Grin enjoy

Why do people bother fitting XUD's with Lucas pumps, it makes no sense. After going through the hassle of transplanting you think they'd want a half decent pump on them!

Should be good, that FMIC definately needs changing as you say!

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Teddy - 29-03-2014

I it's very responsive and u can set off with no rev what so ever

Some reason won't let me upload more than 1 pic will put some up in a min

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - silverzx - 29-03-2014

Theres only so far Lucas pumps can take you.

It'll feel better being in a lighter shell naturally.

Don't get me wrong Lucas's can still give some go, but they're nothing compared to a decent setup bosch.

You manage to aquire an 11mm from your previous breaker for it?

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Martin306 - 29-03-2014

I'm gonna keep an eye on this Wink

NICE I'll keep an eye on this I knew the chassis had to be notched. Weird bit of information I've retained and yet never done the conversion. Would love to see this. Subscribed and will keep an eye on with this one Smile

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Tom - 29-03-2014

That battery is huge!

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Piggy - 29-03-2014

Looks like the previous owner cut the end off a standard xud9te inlet, capped it, cut a hole in the middle and put a pipe take off from there.

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Teddy - 29-03-2014

anto is right inlet is a bit of a lash up getting a xantia mani for it got to look at linkages as it does pop out off reverse some time

S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Sambarker - 29-03-2014

Isn't that inlet a 1.8 td inlet from a 205/309? The ones that run no cooler?

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Teddy - 29-03-2014

no its a 1.9 with the end cut off and welded shut

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - puglove - 29-03-2014

why did some one put all that effort into such a shed of a shell? lol. but once its xsi rep & resprayed should be smart, please please PLEASE spray it cossak Big Grin

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Teddy - 29-03-2014

i not 1 pannel is straight on it but hardly no rust what so ever underneath our in boot our arches only rust is round the areal base

the lad was in process off rubbing it all down and doing the body work but he lost his job and had to sell it

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - 7057sam - 30-03-2014

Looks good mate

Definitely do it cossak Smile

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Teddy - 30-03-2014

Don't no either to respray it our leave it all battered and dented

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Uberderv - 30-03-2014

Awsome stuff Smile Would love to stick a Dv6 engine in one.

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Dum-Dum - 30-03-2014

Are you sure those 306 seats are on custom mounts, the fact that they look like they are leaning over to the side slightly suggests that they are just bolted in on standard 306 sub frames

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Teddy - 30-03-2014

No not standerd 306 subframes the adjusters are on the left not in middle

EGR eaters. Horrendous engines.

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Teddy - 30-03-2014

Sorted the pump out today and set it up need to sort out a new battery relocation wire as it's not thick enough and does struggle to crank engine over enough

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - aaronshort - 30-03-2014

I think you should leave it looking like a boggo 1l and go do some ego killing!

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Piggy - 30-03-2014

Am I the only one that thinks that xsi just looks like its been done in shiney primer and needs a decent top coat?

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - aaronshort - 30-03-2014

I think it looks gorgeous!

I am bit of a bitch for dark grey cars though....

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - Teddy - 30-03-2014

might be able to get me self a cheap xsi kit Big Grin so might jump on that

RE: S1 106 dturbo (sleeper) - ozonehostile - 31-03-2014

Leave it as a shed and gearbox mount that shit
With a vnt

It's a base model shell so pointless trying to improve it imo, sleeper is far more win
