As titled, anyone recommend any products and a decent way to clean this up - the winter took it's toll on it Sad

i have a similar mold on the plastic bit near my wing mirrors and was going to post a thread asking how to get rid of it.
Im assuming this is the same kind of mold so what ever helps you will help me!

Isnt that just a rubber seal? A replacement shouldnt be too hard to find or too expensive?

I tried this as mine looks shite, but the glass and seal are all one piece IIRC Sad

A small stiff nylon brush should do the trick though, almost like a large toothbrush, also works well on the window seals as they tend to go green!

Ohwel, at least the colour of the mould matches your car ninja

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - mark_airey - 16-03-2012

Its moss more than mould TBH, but see the above edit for a way to remove it Wink

Also while I'm here, I wouldn't suggest using a power washer on the edges of the sunroof unless you want a wet interior lol

Bit of banter never did any harm Big Grin all is fair in love and war!

Brush like this will be grand for it Smile

tis what I tend to use, gunk won't help mind, its a degreaser. Jeyes fluid (or however its spelt) kills moss though ninja

Edit:- helps if you put the image in lmao

her is some links to ebay - Single brush http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Upgrade-RC-Me ... 1518wt_962

Similar price but has brass and steel brushes too which are great in the engine bay

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - declantg - 16-03-2012

When i has my saxo the sunroof was coated in mold, pressure wash took it all off Smile

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - samass - 16-03-2012

mould cleaner and a stiff brush. b&q do a small stiff brush they call a grouting brush, i reckon that'd work really well

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - Niall - 16-03-2012

Soapy water, a scouring pad and elbow grease. Careful not to scratch the glass with the pad.

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - Jonny b - 16-03-2012

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - Connor - 16-03-2012

Never had a.problem power washing any of my sunroofs

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - ginge191 - 16-03-2012

Connor Wrote:Never had a.problem power washing any of my sunroofs

1 - i dont have a pressure washer
2 - last time i used a pressure washer on a pug, my interior got WET through the doors
3 - using a more micro scale would clean in precisely - which is what im after...

i can't see a pressure washer removing this almost beard like fungus, and get into the deepness around the edging of my sunroof without causing significant damge - electricity + water ...

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - Connor - 16-03-2012

Well if it leaks around the doors, replace the seal...

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - ginge191 - 16-03-2012

Connor Wrote:Well if it leaks around the doors, replace the seal...

i later found out the seal wasnt the problem but there was a problem with the hinge - that was on my old sigma

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - silverzx - 16-03-2012

You can buy sponges with a netting on one side of it. More then capable of removing mould from the sunroof. Worked for me anyway. Wink

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - Poodle - 18-03-2012

Another vote for a tooth-brush here, that and some washing-up water did the trick for the mouldy bits on the HDi. Apply some vaseline once you've cleaned it up - makes it look shiny and helps it keep a good seal.

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - giblets - 23-03-2012

You can buy mould cleaner for patio's etc, might be an idea to put some of that (diluted) on your roof, helps get rid of any remaining spores left in the tufts.

Re: Mouldy sunroof - How to? - kingy - 23-03-2012

scrape it as much as you can then black boot polish. i do this for my splitter. works a treat and protects it.
