car too low to use arch roller? - rd070707 - 28-02-2014

Hi guys just rented an arch roller and having bolted it to the hub at the rear, even at it's lowest setting it will not go low enough to get the lip at the right angle.

Any suggestions?

Unbolt the shock so the beam drops?

Jack up the car?

Car is jacked up. Undone the shock bolt but surely the torsion bar still holds it?

LOL

Use a saw, then get arch extensions to hide the cut Tongue

Mine wouldnt fit in so I put in the oem scissor jack between the trailing arms and shell and jacked the arms down. It went down enough to get the roller in.

Take out the bottom shock bolt, put a bar/bit of steel in at the back of the inner arch and push the hub down as far as it'll go and then wedge a but of steel of block of wood between the trailing arm and bumpstop. Had to do mine like that.

What Rowell said, I had same issue, just use pug jack wedged in and jack the beam down Smile

Well it's done now anyway, basically had to start the lip roll with a mallet, then use the roller to finish rolling the lip up as it was just about low enough for that. Will know for again though thanks
