WIW:China estate UPDATED 14/7 - Ricky - 05-02-2014

Due to my life completely changing I am tempted to sell the estate and get a petrol.

Description:
1999 China blue estate, roughly 125k miles. I have owned it since around April last year, it's since had two/three oil changes, along with fuel filter. I also changed the cambelt+idler+tensioner in June with Genuine Peugeot parts. Also changed the aux belt and tensioners at the same time with Dayco parts along with a genuine Peugeot 307 crank pulley.
It's currently sat on Peugeot 406 coupe starfish alloys with good tyres (Goodyear efficientgrip all round) With VTS suspension front and rear (including 21mm TB's)
Interior is all standard apart from phase 1 full leathers, could do with a bit of care which I will probably sort out before selling, but are very nice none the less.

It is due for an MOT now so that will be sorted before it's sold.

Bad bits:
Currently the front sits too high compared to the back (in my opinion) so will need either lowering springs or torsion bar adjustment to sort this.
Steering is quite vague, however I will try and fix the problem before I sell on, so it's not that important.
Has a rust hole in the usual place N/S/R arch, I have tidied it up and got rid of as much loose rust as possible, will obviously need welding.

I think that's everything I need to include, any idea on value?

Looks stunning mate

I hate them wheels on the coupe and 406 but look awesome on the china

GLWTS

RE: WIW:China estate - Kezzieboy - 06-02-2014

You'd probably make more selling the leathers separately, looks very tidy though.

RE: WIW:China estate - ozonehostile - 06-02-2014

Super tidy car glwts

Definitely £1000+ depending on the rust

RE: WIW:China estate - Toms306 - 06-02-2014

Such a shame it missed out cheap tax by a few months!

Have you got a picture of the rust/hole Ricky? Or even a quote for it to be welded?

RE: WIW:China estate - Ricky - 06-02-2014

No picture or quotes, not sure what the going rate would be to get it welded tbh.

RE: WIW:China estate - Toms306 - 06-02-2014

That's helpful then. lol

Must admit I'm kinda tempted tbh, but really not sure what it's worth, probably more than I'd want to pay haha.

RE: WIW:China estate - Ricky - 06-02-2014

haha, well i'm still undecided on whether to keep it or not, may just keep it and stage 2/3 it.

RE: WIW:China estate - Eeyore - 06-02-2014

Tom wants it. Would you like to be paid in cash or kind?

RE: WIW:China estate - Toms306 - 06-02-2014

I didn't say I wanted it lol, said I was kinda tempted. Tongue

Would be difficult to get it here anyway, would have to use shiply or something, and I definitely wouldn't pay more than a grand for a 14 year old 306 these days lol.

RE: WIW:China estate - Ricky - 06-02-2014

Tbh if I did sell I would probably be looking around 900.

RE: WIW:China estate - Eeyore - 06-02-2014

And im sure some of us will help get it to you tom!

RE: WIW:China estate - Niall - 06-02-2014

Tom this would suit you perfectly.
Im sure between a load of us on the forum, we could arrange a way of getting it to you lol

RE: WIW:China estate - Ricky - 06-02-2014

Like pass the parcel!

RE: WIW:China estate - Toms306 - 06-02-2014

Lol, it's a kind offer guys but I couldn't expect you to do that!

Also just done an insurance quote....and remembered why I stopped doing mods, lowered/mapped HDi estate costs more than a standard Golf GT TDI 150... lol

RE: WIW:China estate - Ricky - 11-02-2014

Hopefully this should be booked in for an MOT for next week. I have just fitted new brakes all round (Pagid) too.

I think it needs a new track rod, so it will probably fail on that but will get it replaced by the garage because I don't want to do that job! so by the end of the MOT it should drive nicely. Depending on my money situation which I will know in a few days this should be up for sale for definate if I find a nice '6 to replace it with quick enough.

Will be priced at £900 ono.

RE: WIW:China estate - Niall - 11-02-2014

Tom you HAVE to buy this!

RE: WIW:China estate - Ricky - 14-07-2014

So want to bump this thread, hopefully looking at another car tomorrow..

Update:
MOT til Feb 2015
Tax until Oct 2014

Since I made this thread it's also had:
Genuine Berlingo P bushes
Lemforder track rod ends
Lemforder track rod O/S
Oil, filter and fuel filter change
Stage 1
De cat.
Refurbished Xsara VTS beam
It's also now on nearly 131k

Bad bits:
Rust in N/S arch
Needs a boot lid
One of the rear ABS sensors needs replacing
Could do with a new lower engine mount
Boost leak
Clutch a bit juddery, doesn't slip at all though.

I will include a set of cyclones with bolts, a full set of arch liners and the pioneer head unit

Really looking for £800ono

When I bought this car I also made up my own service and part replacement sheets and have recorded everything that I have done since I bought it.

There is one service sheet missing there should be 4. Also has two spare keys.

RE: WIW:China estate UPDATED 14/7 - Ricky - 15-07-2014

On Ebay. If it goes to anyone on here I will include the cyclones, bolts and the full set of arch liners in the price. It's priced slightly higher on Ebay like everything else on there.
