TWIN OPTICS - paul7278 - 30-01-2014

do you need a differnt headlight stalk to run these?

RE: TWIN OPTICS - Mattcheese31 - 30-01-2014

iirc yes you do

RE: TWIN OPTICS - WiNgNuTz - 30-01-2014

Yes, you'll need the ph3 twin optics stalk to run them properly, the ph2 stalk switches dipped beam off when you put full beam on, whereas the ph3 stalk puts them both on. If that makes sense? lol

RE: TWIN OPTICS - paul7278 - 30-01-2014

doesnt phase 3 have fog lights on the light stalk?

RE: TWIN OPTICS - Toms306 - 30-01-2014

They do yeah...

RE: TWIN OPTICS - Jimbo - 30-01-2014

Or you can just put a relay in...

RE: TWIN OPTICS - John1.4 - 30-01-2014

i just plugged in mine, and they work fine?

RE: TWIN OPTICS - Daniel306 - 30-01-2014

I did the relay on mine,

RE: TWIN OPTICS - RetroPug - 30-01-2014

Or get a Ph.1 twin-optic stalk from a Gti-6.

RE: TWIN OPTICS - paul7278 - 30-01-2014

I'll try to remember to get one of mine over the next few days. No idea what the connector behind the cowling looks like though...
If I don't do it feel free to get on my case.

They will work fine....but not as twin optics. So the dipped beam won't stay on when you switch the full beam on. Not a huge issue tbh, though obviously useful if you use full beams a lot.

RE: TWIN OPTICS - paul7278 - 01-02-2014

so its best to get a phase 3 one for them to work properly then? any particular one?

No, there's some confusion here I think.

Ph3 lights will work with any stalk, just not in twin optic mode unless you have a twin optic stalk. It doesn't matter whether it's a ph1 or ph3 stalk, as long as it's twin optic it will be fine. Smile

RE: TWIN OPTICS - paul7278 - 01-02-2014

how can you tell the difference

RE: TWIN OPTICS - Dale2890 - 01-02-2014

My Ph.1 twin-optics don't keep the dipped beam on, but they are separate.
Pretty sure they're all standard.
