Tensioners look warn + belt cracks - Welshy_Pete - 08-03-2012 I got a new cambelt kit with tensionsers. Also water pump and altanator belt as well. Which is getting changed very shortly which I think a very good idea! But today I looked at the altanator top tensioner it looks warn + belt cracks. But the tensioner at the top its not smooth is has lumps on it in parts you can feel them and see them. The bottom tensioner I cant see that one but that might be the same. How often do people change the altanator tensioners? The altanator tensioners are more expensive than the cambelt kit with tensionsers at £47! 306 hdi Re: Tensioners look warn + belt cracks - Poodle - 09-03-2012 The tensioners shouldn't be lumpy or cracked dude, might be covered in crap - try giving them a clean. Should be more concerned with the state of the bearings, any stiction or play in the bearings and the tensioner should be replaced really. |
