H7 Bulb Upgrade (Phase 3) - Which Bulbs? - MY95 - 25-01-2014

What H7 bulbs do people recommend that people have upgraded to or had before?

RE: H4 Bulb Upgrade (Phase 3) - Which Bulbs? - Connor - 25-01-2014

What are you trying to upgrade about them? Brightness? What do you currently have? Just standatd. And ph3 crystals should be h7.

Ok cheers, what about these?http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Peugeot_306_2.0_1999/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/lighting1/car-bulb/?48177022V&1&d03708e951a4803b9b2090f1e84affe2ed0116d7&000384

The 60% newer ones are reviewed very highly by autoexpress, I pressume these are the ones they replaced?

Has anyone got any photos of their car with the Osram Nightbreakers on?

They took my Ph.1 twin-optics from shit to decent, so in Ph.3 projector headlights I imagine they also perform very well.

RE: H7 Bulb Upgrade (Phase 3) - Which Bulbs? - cully - 26-01-2014

i recommend the nightbreakers as a upgrade from std Lamps too
ph3 twin optics are H7
ph3 round fogs are H1

RE: H7 Bulb Upgrade (Phase 3) - Which Bulbs? - MY95 - 26-01-2014

Thanks guys, might have to purchase some then, what are the Osram Nightbreakers for full beam (H1/H4 etc?) or does H7 cover both full and dipped beam?

RE: H7 Bulb Upgrade (Phase 3) - Which Bulbs? - Niall - 26-01-2014

If you have Crystals, you need a total of 4x H7 bulbs to do dipped and main in both lights.

Oh I see, thanks! Not sure about crystals as I just have the standard headlights

RE: H7 Bulb Upgrade (Phase 3) - Which Bulbs? - RetroPug - 26-01-2014

If it is your silver HDI then those are phase 3 crystal headlights (ph.2 ones have frosted glass, not clear).
Osram Nightbreaker Plus bulbs gave me a massive increase in visibility range in shit phase 1 lights.

If you don't want to spend loads of money you could just replace the dipped beam ones if you don't use main beam much. In my opinion they are well, well worth the money though.

I think OP wants to see and be seen for safety, not see far but blind others and have them hit him head on.

How H7R bulbs that are properly leveled, isn't half the problem with hids being badly adjusted so they point too high? along with the beam pattern being for projector lights

The biggest issue is the head light isn't designed to scatter the light correctly. The majority of cars with HIDs use projectors now. In fact, the only one i can think of that doesn't is the new Civic and i always seem to get blinded by them.
Regardless of if people think they do or don't blind others, the point is they are illegal and i genuinely wish people that use them to get a full arse raping by the law as it seems every chav in his 1.1 around here fits them and they genuinely are unsafe for other road users!
