106 gti front suspension - Scouse282 - 23-01-2014 Dont know if i imagined it or not but as a cheaper way of lowering can 106 gti front struts be used on a 306 and if so how much would they lower it by ? RE: 106 gti front suspension - Piggy - 23-01-2014 Springs, not struts. And it may be cheap but not suitable or safe RE: 106 gti front suspension - Scouse282 - 23-01-2014 (23-01-2014, 07:38 AM)Piggy Wrote: Springs, not struts. Yee can imagine they arent the best just thought id ask RE: 106 gti front suspension - Piggy - 23-01-2014 Lowering springs on gti shocks come up on here for £30-50 for a pair...so its not worth trying to save a tenner RE: 106 gti front suspension - Eeyore - 23-01-2014 Just do it properly mate. No point messing around with parts which arent meant for the car. RE: 106 gti front suspension - Chris_90 - 23-01-2014 why this is hear could i put the springs off my 106 (eibach -30mm) on to the 205? RE: 106 gti front suspension - Piggy - 23-01-2014 Same thing dood...just do it properly RE: 106 gti front suspension - powerandtorque - 23-01-2014 Using 106 springs on 205's is common enough, although it's usually only on the lighter TU models. With a diesel engine 205 you're going to need different springs though - even standard 205 GTi springs lower diesels a fair amount (indeed, it works quite well coupled with a GTi spec beam and is how I ran my old 205 STDT). I would imagine that 106 or 205 springs on a 306 would be far too low and the spring rates badly mis-matched. 106's and 205's are broadly similar weight wise, whereas a 306 is much heavier. |
