Ginge's Diablo '6 - ginge191 - 18-01-2014 So as most you may know i went to go see a GTi6 earlier. Seemed very nice in and out, engine on 53k, bit of lacquer peel and needs a fair bit of TLC inside and out! BUT will be a nice little worker before the car season starts! Yes, the morettes have already found a new home and will be swapped for a set of crystals Deposit down, picking up in 2 weeks. Watch this space RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Frosty - 18-01-2014 Should be a good little project chap. Whats your plans for it? RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - ginge191 - 18-01-2014 Not sure yet. Merely aesthetics need sorting. Then getting it looking half decent. RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - WiNgNuTz - 18-01-2014 And get shot of the cassette player. RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - sam - 18-01-2014 Looks good chap! RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - procta - 18-01-2014 not bad!! RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Niall - 18-01-2014 Get them rub strips back to black. Grey faded plastics ruin a cars look IMO. If you have time, sand them down and do them gloss black. Makes a big difference i think. Edit: 14,000th post. Shit i need a life! RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - rd070707 - 18-01-2014 agree with nial but id do them satin black RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Matt - 18-01-2014 Love this car. Seen this about myself and always fancied it! Bloody bargain to you cheeky shit! RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Grant - 18-01-2014 Very nice. Welcome to the diablo bum club RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - ginge191 - 18-01-2014 Lol thanks! I'll Matt black rub strips; looked sweet on the sigma, not a fan of gloss! Thanks all RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Eeyore - 19-01-2014 Looks good. Get it sorted! RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Tom - 19-01-2014 I'd recommend Autoglym Bumper Gel before you go painting stuff. Oh and Derv < Perv. But it looks good mate, sure you'll do it justice, and low miles is win! Is that the stuff you used; I'm just not a fan of glossy rub strips; Much prefer the contrast of a nice matte strip against the metal But yes, looking forward to getting involved with this cheers! RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Tom - 19-01-2014 Its really great stuff, especially if you use it regularly, i personally couldnt be bothered with painting them when this gel works and looks as good as it does. Its only like 7quid a tub i think? And you use literally one drip each time, you'll use a bit more to get started but after that its easy. Gets that white polish stain off black plastic aswell! RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - ginge191 - 19-01-2014 But it has a glossy finish? RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Tom - 19-01-2014 Its shiney, i'd say it makes trim look how it should. If you want a proper matt finish then you will have to paint them, but thats effort. How hunter's were; didn't take me long and thats' just how i like them RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Tom - 19-01-2014 I done them with bumper gel and they came up great, the just of this is you do them how you like them :p RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - THE_Liam - 19-01-2014 Diablo fwend RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - puglove - 20-01-2014 f*ck bumper gel. Auto glym tyre shine ftw for plastics RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - ginge191 - 28-01-2014 So purchased a couple of bits for this already. Set of lowering springs and a headunit. No biggy but will be a bit of a snow plough for a while RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - ginge191 - 01-02-2014 So.. picked it up today; got some tyres from jamie, PE2's on front as the old tyres were slicks. Not disappointed, as such, it needs work as to be expected, nothing HUGE. So far, the to do list stands at: Front brakes CV boot - split it today! gah! TRE on N/S - garage couldn't allign completely as it's seized up, even with fire! Will replace them in time Apart from that, it shifts, and the 53k engine is a beauty! And yes, those front tyres are the OLD tyres.. RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - Niall - 01-02-2014 Love it Looks tidy! Them front tyres look like they are almost on the threads on the outside! Whens the Eaton going on it? :p RE: Ginge's GTi6 ... what happened here?! - ginge191 - 01-02-2014 (01-02-2014, 07:54 PM)Niall Wrote: Whens the Garrett going on it? :p EFA All in good time!
