HDI fuel line with damper thingy - Ricky - 18-01-2014

Don't know the proper name, i'm sure a few HDI owners will know what i'm on about. Need the fuel supply line that I think goes into the filter housing that has the small damper in it to stop the vibration and noises.

That's the fuel cooler on the return line.

I also don't have a pic but it's only on the X reg and later HDi's as far as I know. Which is why the earlier ones whine on ignition...

I read on the internet somewhere that crimping the fuel line slightly in two places close to each other and at 90 degrees to each other can stop the whine.

Tempted to try, what harm can it really do! Worst case scenario is that I need to replace the line..
