Egr valve blank. - kentiiboii - 09-01-2014

I've asked tallguysmallbike to make me a egr valve blanking plate as I see there's none on ebay.
Just need to know if anyone knows the sizes?

Also thought I'd pop this up because I'd guess other people would be interested?

You sure? The guy on eBay that I bought my EGR blank from still has them listed - clicky

I've just bought these, they turned up next day, also still on ebay. £7.99 for both posted, nice and thick.

I'd just buy them off ebay mate, the hassle of getting the sizes etc. also i wouldn't do them any cheaper lol . Big Grin

Re: Egr valve blank. - kentiiboii - 09-01-2014

Cheers guys. They just not listed it for the 306 :-)

RE: Egr valve blank. - Wolverine1091 - 15-01-2014

Would aluminium suffice for both ends of the egr?

RE: Egr valve blank. - Poodle - 15-01-2014

Don't know how it'd cope on the exhaust side, especially on a tuned engine.

RE: Egr valve blank. - Dum-Dum - 15-01-2014

I wouldn't use ally on the exhaust side as it starts to get soft at a lower temp than a HDi can make EGTs.

Realistically for the effort of making them it really is best just to buy them.

Fair enough, I'm sure I've got some steel sheet somewhere, Besides, I'm one of those strange guys who likes making shit!

RE: Egr valve blank. - Poodle - 16-01-2014

Completely appreciate that. Big Grin

RE: Egr valve blank. - mcglynn - 16-01-2014

Just make sure its a straight edge as u will inevitably run into boost leaks etc if it isnt Smile

RE: Egr valve blank. - jonnie7057 - 18-01-2014

Does an EGR blank show much? is it worth the bother of doing?

RE: Egr valve blank. - mcglynn - 18-01-2014

Doesnt add power to to speak but stops dirty exhaust gases being recirculated into your inlet. If youve ever stripped apart a diesel Inlet manifold u'll know why lol!

RE: Egr valve blank. - 1616six - 18-01-2014

I made a manifold EGR blank from our letter box flap as my EGR cooler pipe exploded.. Bodge Y0..

It's mapped out & other side was already blanked. Works a treat Wink

Not really unless your valve is leaking (which a few seem to be now)

Yeah If you have a look in your inlet you'll see a thick black gunk up to about 10mm thick coating the inside of the manifold, this is the product of exhaust gasses mixing with the breather oil and is a massive restriction.
