Ok little bit of a update
The bodged up decat split in half the other day so went round bash's to get it welded up.
He did a great job and even let me do some welded
So running really well at the moment even been using it as a daily this week.Done 315 miles for 50 pound so ok not the 45mpg the focus gets but still pretty good.

None of your modifications will really make you gain power, you might have lost some mid range if anything.
Depending on the dyno and the cam timing anything between 162 and 172 is good, torque 142 -155

low torque I rekon by the mods, so 140ish but they make healthy bhp top end standard so 173bhp

Well it only made 167.7 but looking back on it I'm pretty happy to retain its standard power and the mods are all breather so it's standard untouched engine essentially

I would say thats a decent result, seems to be pretty accurate. Looks like a very clean dyno set up, Cant imagine that would want to many smokey dervs in there

They where 2 skoda 130 tdi thing making plenty of smoke
guys running it seems pretty good lads so don't see where they wouldn't.

You are looking at it wrong piggy. It's a maha dyno not a hub dyno and as such measures coast down figures rather than guessing at the fly figure using crappy maths.

Thats how most dynos do it in my experience of using them.
Just seems quite high.
Mine was calculated at 12bhp loss using coast down figures!

The dyno that a few of us from down here use at tipton seems to be about 20% lose from the flyweheel figure to the wheel figure

12hp loss seems far too low tbh James, we had a couple of dyno days at college and losses were mostly around 20-30hp for 'normal' cars. (Golfs, Saxos, Clios etc). Was a Mini there with 40bhp ATF and 20bhp losses which was a laugh.
Golf 130TDi had about 25bhp loss iirc.

My at the wheel figure was 206bhp.... but 218bhp at the "fly" by coast down figures!

Would be much better if everyone (inc manufacturers!) used ATW figures tbh, still not perfect but much closer than anything 'guessed' ATF.

But this isn't a guessed at the flywheel figure... No point comparing dyno figures either.
Anyway I'd check your cam timing as the torque figure is pretty low. If it's not been skimmed you'll have more out of that car yet - speak to welshpug about it at Pugfest or fcs. Decat doesn't hurt it that much.

torque does look a bit low, is that 166nm? peak rpm of power and torque is a bit high which typically incucates slightly retarded cam timing, power should peak at 6500 iirc.
bring the cam timing forwards will bring up peak torque.
im not convinced at all with the figures from hereford, decent looking setup but difficult looking to replicate the results given.

TBH with these XU10s i see a lot of varying figures for standard engines regardless of milage or care. It could be just a coincidence and its different dynos or it could be they are just the sort of engine that is pretty hard against abuse and age/mileage related damage.

You can only compare results from different dynos by the shape of the curve
Fast ford did a test where they drove round 5 different dynos in an afternoon (so the car was the same, same condition, same weather etc) and there was about a 10% difference between the highest and lowest.

if it was just his there that day, I would say it was high...
But Ozones was there and was a good figure.
And then there must have been 30 odd other cars, quite a few standard, different engines and marks and they all did as expected, including a new fiesta st and clio sport which both were bob on the money
