Whats the biggest set of fans you can fit on a GTi radiator?

RE: Slimline fans - Matt - 27-12-2013

Not really lol. I think the XUD rads are slightly bigger are they not?

Get genuine SPAL ones. The cheapy aftermarket ones are poop...make a wracket, and move shit all air....

RE: Slimline fans - Chris - 27-12-2013

The one I bought were £40 ebay jobbies, worked miles better than the standard fans and quieter too.

On my charged 6 there are 2x10" SPAL slimline fans but I would say there is just about room for 12" ones in there. In the height of summer their not as good as the standard fans were at keeping engine temps down.

I also use 2 x 12" and am very happy with the results. Apparently fans with flat blades make more noise than thise with a twist to the blades!?

Doesn't bother me as the car is way louder than my fans!
