Alight looking at getting a phase 1 Dturbo i have an engine out of an old 405 dt will all the mounts be the same will it just fit straight in cheers

yeah...they did drop the 1.8 in the 405s though at some point, although I maybe wrong.
So just ensure its the xud9!

Phase 1 405 came with a xud7, phase 2 from 94 to 96 will be an xud9te
Both engines will be a direct fit into a 306 though

I thought all the 405s diesel range were 1.9? as I am pretty sure my dads 405 NAD was 1.9. that was on a G plater.

Definitely did the 1.8, it was top mount intercooler so looked the same as the 1.9. Way to tell is xud7 has belt driven vac pump and xud9 has cam driven vac pump.
Probably only a handful of xud7 405 left in the world now :-(

Yep a 1.9 running a bosch will be the same as a 306 1.9 running a bosch except you might gt a FMIC with the 405
Also to fit it in the 306 you might need to swap a couple of water outlets and that but itll be straight bolt-off-bolt-on

When i was buying my 306 dturbo i went to view a white 306dturbo and knew something wasnt right about it when i seen that belt driven vac pump. Stayed well clear of it....
