injector leak?? - Piggy - 02-12-2013

I think I have an injector leaking from itself...

hope pics show:

Ive change leakoff pipes twice thinking it was those but it seems to be coming from around that flange/edge...

thoughts??

what leakoff pipe did you use? I;ve found nearly everything in the aftermarket pretty crap as its all 3.2mm, you need 3mm.

Take the injector out, split it in half clean up the threads then torque it back together.

The injector looks very clean, has it been rebuilt recently? Sometimes they don't reseal properly between the top part and holder. I had one that was leaking after a rebuild, I just nipped the top part up a little more in the holder and it seems to have stopped, although I suspect that's not the recommended way of doing it.

righto...

will try that.

Although my vice is bust so I may try holding bottom half and nipping top half in place....

or just getting a set refurbed properly as they are mega loud

Im looking at refurbing a set myself, its just nozzles are like 80quid for the set lol

RE: injector leak?? - Piggy - 02-12-2013

exactly...theres some refurbed ones on here for sale...

if I sell some bits or me big turbo I will buy them straight away

You may need to lap the two halves together again, sounds like they're just not sealing together properly, had this issue myself but couldn't be arsed sorting it

Correct, the two mating faces should be lapped, although I didn't bother on mine (but then one did leak). This guide is pretty good:

I just cleaned the existing nozzles up and they turned out ok.
