Fuel line under car. - Tom - 16-11-2013 Would i NEED to use hard fuel pipe under the car or can i just rip that off and use rubber hose? Obviously fuel grade stuff, probably cable tied onto the existing return pipe which i dont see the point in changing? Not sure if thats a dumb question or not lol. RE: Fuel line under car. - silverzx - 16-11-2013 I've used the braided flexi fuel line stuff underneath before.. Why would it be a problem? RE: Fuel line under car. - Tom - 16-11-2013 Well that's what I thought. I don't see a problem but I'm a pikey bastard so figured I would check other people think its OK aha! RE: Fuel line under car. - Jimbo - 16-11-2013 Yeah crack on I cant see a problem, the fuel hose is very thick still Fuel line under car. - zx_volcane - 16-11-2013 I've been running rubber fuel hose under my car for a while now, zip tied up. I did shit it when I went over that deer though! But thankfully they stayed intact, despite taking my rear bumper clean off RE: Fuel line under car. - Paul_13 - 17-11-2013 10mm & 8mm copper lines, they clip straight into the existing clips. Be careful when clamping the hose onto the tank pickup, it's made of plastic that doesn't take much to break. Proper fuel line clips for that mate I'll grab a few pics of my setup when I get the chance. RE: Fuel line under car. - Tom - 20-11-2013 Is 3metres enough to go from tank to pump? It would if I ran it through the car but that's not a good idea! ![]() Bought 3 but now I have it I'm skeptical :/ RE: Fuel line under car. - silverzx - 20-11-2013 Through the car is probably better for veg. ![]() RE: Fuel line under car. - Ricky - 20-11-2013 What internal diameter is that pipe? If you don't have enough I have 10 metres of fuel line that I never used I can sell if its the same size. RE: Fuel line under car. - Tom - 20-11-2013 Its 10mm internal diameter. Looks like really good stuff just not long enough lol. RE: Fuel line under car. - Daniel306 - 20-11-2013 I used 8mm and it was slack to the fitting on the tank... RE: Fuel line under car. - Piggy - 20-11-2013 8mm standard. no point all the effort unless you go bigger RE: Fuel line under car. - silverzx - 20-11-2013 Is there an advantage to going 10mm? Veg might flow better? Chuck a lift pump on whilst your at it? RE: Fuel line under car. - Tom - 20-11-2013 The return on the tank pickup is small but the "in" pipe seemed quite big. I plan on going 10 all the way to the pump getting rid of the 8mm under the car and that hard pipe on the fuel pump that's tiny. Chuck a lift pump on whilst your at it? these pumps DONT like positive pressure. I looked into it...and Ruan and Darren were like NOOOOOO! RE: Fuel line under car. - Ricky - 20-11-2013 A lift pump would be fine with a swirl pot, just not direct. RE: Fuel line under car. - Tom - 20-11-2013 I'm thinking about running it through the car now haha.. RE: Fuel line under car. - silverzx - 21-11-2013 Swirl pot hmm? Run it through the car and cover it in a heat wrap/blanket and wire it up to a switch!? ![]() Is there a point where having the diesel/veg too warm becomes an issue? RE: Fuel line under car. - Tom - 21-11-2013 Can't imagine you could get it hot enough to cause issues :/ even if you ran it through the heater box! RE: Fuel line under car. - Chris_90 - 21-11-2013 So tempted to go run my Fuel line though the car now lol! Espicily with this apparent cold weather that's supposed to be coming ![]() RE: Fuel line under car. - silverzx - 21-11-2013 Thermal wrap, insulation, electric bed blankets/elements. Or the old "glow plug" trick, pass it over a glow plug to warm it slightly. RE: Fuel line under car. - Tom - 21-11-2013 Check my project thread... Your about half hour too late ![]() RE: Fuel line under car. - darrenjlobb - 22-11-2013 Deffo worth upgrading the lines. There very small / dragging as stock...and thats on derv..let alone veg...lift pump with a swirlpot would work perfectly. This is how mine was setup before. RE: Fuel line under car. - aggyj17 - 22-11-2013 What's the best size I'd to go for need to get some for the 205 but not sure what size to go.for RE: Fuel line under car. - silverzx - 22-11-2013 12mm is for kings. |
