So who are you with? - Fozzy - 29-02-2012 Its that time of year where i have to hand over far too much money to drive on that fine tarmac this country call roads ![]() Ive been with Bell car insurance for the last couple of years as they have been competitive with my modifications. I got a call this morning to work out a multi car quote on my HDi and my Wallye £988 (Hdi - £502 for a year with 2yncb, Wallye - 486 for nine months with 4yncb) So what insurers are you with and who would you recommend for my mods? Stainless Exhaust Induction Lowering Uprated brakes Fozzy Re: So who are you with? - Foxy-jim - 29-02-2012 I'm with bell and they are pretty good. I have declared everything and on my 1.4 I pay £700. This is £200 cheaper then anyone else! Re: So who are you with? - Toby - 29-02-2012 For those mods, I would recommend you give Graham Sykes a call. They specialise in modified cars, and give you a discount for being with 306oc (Probably, when I got mine I said .net). I pay £500 a year with all mods declared, with 1 NCB. They prefer mods which don't increase engine HP, so those ones would suit well. Re: So who are you with? - Fozzy - 29-02-2012 Foxy-jim Wrote:I'm with bell and they are pretty good. Thats a lot for a 1.4 im going to assume you're younger with les NCB i remember paying out out something like a grand for my first 1.4 ![]() Toby Wrote:For those mods, I would recommend you give Graham Sykes a call. Thanks Just filled out their online quote thingy so hopefully get a call from them soon ish Re: So who are you with? - puglove - 29-02-2012 Just renewed mine a few weeks ago, goes as follows Admeral multi car Gti6: 4 years NCB Fully comp kept in a garage value with mods: £1750 Mods: Stainless cat back lowered more than -5cms Body mods Driving lights optional extra interior uprated break mods Std wheels insured at extra value (because of refurb x4 proxies) DT: 1 year NCB fully comp kept on a drive Value with mods: £1100 Mods: After market exhaust lowered more than -5cm Body mods Driving lights optional extra wheels (cyclones came with steels) optional extra seats +20 bhp engine mods Both of them come out at £1150 for the year Not to bad me thinks? Re: So who are you with? - 4WayDiablo - 29-02-2012 Elephant but theyre shit. Dont go with them Re: So who are you with? - Fozzy - 29-02-2012 Puglove thats pretty good. I think i may have to press them a bit more when they ring back and see if they can get it any lower ![]() And FYI 1wayD Elephant, Bell and admiral are all the same, The guy said this over the phone as he could look at my previous insurance on elephant and i think diamond are the same also as he found an old policy of my sisters. Re: So who are you with? - 4WayDiablo - 29-02-2012 Fair enough. Theyre still shit lol Also really didnt go much on chriss knott Premium choice and churchill have been good to me though Re: So who are you with? - puglove - 29-02-2012 Also im 22 fozzy forgot to metion that as age is normaly a factor in it Re: So who are you with? - Foxy-jim - 29-02-2012 Elephant arrnt that bad! Ye I forgot to say I'm 19 with two years NCB and 2 years experience. Re: So who are you with? - Kimmie - 29-02-2012 I'm with Diamond and have been for 4 years, but they are the same as Admiral, Bell and Elelphant, and all will price match quotes between them. They're really no that bad, although their renewal prices are hilarious, so I always have to do the online quotes and get them to match it. I phoned Brentacre for a quote on a 6 earlier in the week, and they quoted me £1500 Third part etc, and £1800 fully comp! That's without any mods ![]() Re: So who are you with? - Fozzy - 29-02-2012 how can you have 4NCB and been driving for 3.5 years? Just got off the phone to adrian flux and got a quote for the HDi with mods tpft for £430 with emma on the policy £250 excess not too bad They got the rallye down to £480 Fully comp for a year, shame i cant keep that price as only valid for 30days and my 4NCB will be up in april Re: So who are you with? - Kimmie - 29-02-2012 With those companies you can do a 10 month bonus accelerator, so you pay for 10 months but still get a full years NCB. I also bought the car before I passed my test.. Re: So who are you with? - Connor - 29-02-2012 Im with admiral too, but last year renewal, bell gave me a cheaper quote... Qtf is that all about... and adding my girlfriend who only has a provisional and never even had a lesson... lowered the quote by 200 quid! Re: So who are you with? - Fozzy - 29-02-2012 Oh yeah i forgot about that, i always see the 10month bonus accelerator as a bit of a con because you dont save what you have to spend in those 2months more than you save in the having a NCB My girlfriend makes my insurance go up, but she has to be on it apparently ![]() Re: So who are you with? - Kimmie - 29-02-2012 Same with Scott ![]() Re: So who are you with? - Fozzy - 29-02-2012 Tell scott to ring adrian flux and see about putting you on, they did a flat rate for me and added emma on. He did make me laugh when i said can you get it lower without her on it 'i havn't put price up when adding her, and you don't wanna get in trouble taking her off' haha Re: So who are you with? - Kimmie - 29-02-2012 He's got a policy with Brentacre for his V6 though, so if I get a 6 it would be in my name, and I've been told it's cheaper without him lol. Don't think that would be allowed! Re: So who are you with? - Fozzy - 29-02-2012 Ok i read that wrong originally, i took it as same with Scotts insurance and putting you on it. Yeah its not allowed to have yourself as a named driver when you would infact be the main. Is Brentacre competative on price, more so than adrian flux? Re: So who are you with? - Kimmie - 29-02-2012 Scott's been with them a couple of years now, and they've been good, maybe ask him? Re: So who are you with? - Fozzy - 29-02-2012 Hehe that was me asking him (via you ![]() Re: So who are you with? - Kimmie - 29-02-2012 Lol, fail! Probably be quicker, I'm not seeing him tonight ![]() Re: So who are you with? - Foxy-jim - 29-02-2012 I love how you put a smiley face after saying you arent seeing him tonight! Haha. Ooops, wasn't supposed to let him know I was happy about it :? Nah, I'm being massively girly and having my hair done ![]() Re: So who are you with? - Hitchos - 29-02-2012 Direct line 14 years experience and 10 years no claims ( was on my mothers insurence for a while) no mods at all £275 fully comp does have its advantages being older lol |
