lowering my dturbo - willJspears - 08-11-2013 i want to get my dturbo lowered, ive been informed by the pervious owner that it has a gti6 front setup, (gti6 brakes and suspension) is there any way of telling whether this is true, is there anything noticably different between the two, am i right in saying that the gti6 brakes are bigger and a bit lower doen on the disc? RE: lowering my dturbo - underground375 - 08-11-2013 You can tell easily due to the size and shape of the calliper it's self. You will find it to be more 'flat headed' then the standard d turbo ones! RE: lowering my dturbo - willJspears - 08-11-2013 okay cheers, just that i need new brake pads, dont wanna order the wrong ones, any ideas on the suspension? RE: lowering my dturbo - underground375 - 08-11-2013 If they was standard springs the car would sit higher due to the weight difference in the to engines. If you look at the springs there normally red or yellow depending on the make. Saying that ive got 40mm black springs on my d turbo. RE: lowering my dturbo - willJspears - 08-11-2013 the springs at the mo, look very short and fat, but i havnt really had a good look at another dturbo RE: lowering my dturbo - underground375 - 08-11-2013 Normally lowering springs will be shorter and the coils on the bottom of the spring sit together? RE: lowering my dturbo - willJspears - 08-11-2013 will have to have a good look when i get the chance, think they are gti6 coz the car isnt exactley sitting very low |
