What colour to paint the block???? - londondan86 - 06-11-2013 As the title really. Stuck on what colour to paint the engine. My silicone is blue and there will be a few shiney polished surfaces as well. So my thoughts to avoid clashing is to go with a blue on the block as well but still undecided. Thoughts and opinions would be good Cant get a poll to work properly? Options are: 1. Blue 2. Black 3. Red 4. Yellow 5. Lime Green 6. Orange 7. White 8. Grey RE: What colour to paint the block???? - Niall - 06-11-2013 Added a poll for you Black IMO. Nice and tidy but hides the dirt lol RE: What colour to paint the block???? - Jonny81191 - 06-11-2013 I vote Yellow. Purely because it'll wind Carl up RE: What colour to paint the block???? - londondan86 - 06-11-2013 Cheers matey, didn't realise you had to click "post reply" before it gave you the options!! RE: What colour to paint the block???? - Tom - 06-11-2013 Lime green, because... well, because lime fricken green! RE: What colour to paint the block???? - underground375 - 06-11-2013 Yellow for me! Evan tho yellow is a pain in the ass to paint! RE: What colour to paint the block???? - zx_volcane - 06-11-2013 meh, yellow has been done :p ive voted white just to give you a challenge on keeping it clean RE: What colour to paint the block???? - underground375 - 06-11-2013 Brown bottom end with a lime green head RE: What colour to paint the block???? - Craigus - 06-11-2013 I voted orange, just because noone else picked orange haha RE: What colour to paint the block???? - Jake - 07-11-2013 Green RE: What colour to paint the block???? - c.gerrard - 07-11-2013 Doesn't really matter what colour it goes, it'll get covered in oil before too long Definitely not yellow, because if you do, I will come to your house in the middle of the night and remove it all, for trying to copy me. I'm thinking something very manly, like say PINK! RE: What colour to paint the block???? - mcvite - 07-11-2013 Red definitely RE: What colour to paint the block???? - mr_fish - 07-11-2013 multicolour (blue, white, red) RE: What colour to paint the block???? - cully - 07-11-2013 Please no not RED! RE: What colour to paint the block???? - darrenjlobb - 07-11-2013 To be fair, it makes little odds, because even when kept clean (which if you rebuild it with new seals etc it will, engines dont HAVE to be covered in oil like every XUD owner seems to assume) you cant acaully see much of the block on the xud...the pump covers half of it, stat oil breather assay covers the other half...even more so with my old charger your running, so paint it whatever colour as once in the car you will barely notice heh. Mine used to be blue, kind of works well as a imbetween colour... That or just black for OEM+ RE: What colour to paint the block???? - londondan86 - 07-11-2013 Right I think the mob has spoken! I'll leave this thread up for a bit anyways, plus there will be plenty of time yet I think Darren had a good point, it won't really be seen much but a colour does look nicer!! When this red engine goes in I'll decide properly then on how much colour can really be seen. RE: What colour to paint the block???? - Ruan - 08-11-2013 Yeah, you can't see any of it anyway... Only way to paint engines properly is simply to dip the ENTIRE lot... They look INCREDIBLE when you do it, but you have to make sure it's totally done, then just effectively spray the ENTIRE lot... And name the engine - Darren, you're banned from this game RE: What colour to paint the block???? - silverzx - 08-11-2013 (08-11-2013, 05:17 PM)Ruan Wrote: Yeah, you can't see any of it anyway... Looks a bit like that merc lump? Straight 6 VE lump of some kind? RE: What colour to paint the block???? - John1.4 - 08-11-2013 Cummins 6BT 5.9L ? RE: What colour to paint the block???? - Toms306 - 08-11-2013 Haha...beat me to it! Bit of a fail there Ruan, anyone that hits the quote button can see the pic title. RE: What colour to paint the block???? - Ruan - 08-11-2013 Well, it fooled someone who thought it was a Merc motor RE: What colour to paint the block???? - Toms306 - 08-11-2013 Good point! RE: What colour to paint the block???? - puglove - 08-11-2013 What 4 idiots voted white for an engine block? RE: What colour to paint the block???? - darrenjlobb - 08-11-2013 Haha the biggest issue with dipping the motor, is that the second you touch anything, it looks shit. Deere motors are like this from factory, which is porn, but second you crack and injector, pull a rocker cover, change the pump timing, or aything, it looks f*cked, have to carry rattle can in the boot for on the fly touch ups lol RE: What colour to paint the block???? - C.A.R. - 08-11-2013 Silver IMO. Black could make it harder to locate a fluid leak, mud & dirt will show up on black too. |
