Going to try fitting a larger washer see if 1/4 of the pipe can be done at a time rather that just small bit's

my mate made me one of these years ago, worked good, but gets tiring lol.

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - Niall - 30-10-2013

lol i bought these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mole-grip-tube-pipe-beader-boost-coolant-pipe-/321210288500?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=EeA0sb9FXRZx%252FpbNP%252B9dhbgeac0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Couldn't you just buy beaded pipes? Much easier!

Think Dum-Dum has something similar, remember seeing it in one of his threads.

Yeah, until you want to cut them down to the size you need then you loose your bead.

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - Toms306 - 30-10-2013

I just measured and bought the right size when I done the Golf ones lol....

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - Piggy - 31-10-2013

this is a much cheaper way though.

great idea...Im making some today!!

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - Jonny81191 - 31-10-2013

Don't use a larger washer, unless you're popeye. You'll just make it really difficult to form the bead.

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - Piggy - 31-10-2013

the other change I would say is the 'pinch' point is not far enough allong the grip jaws...meaning you are losing a lot of the leverage of the grips.

see that ebay one...washer is right on the end...makes it a lot easier

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - darrenjlobb - 31-10-2013

I made one in my vice, makes the job very easy Smile

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - Jonny81191 - 31-10-2013

That one is win tbh Darren Big Grin

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - darrenjlobb - 31-10-2013

Ending up welding it permenantly and geting another vice, full time beader now lol.

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - Ruan - 31-10-2013

Err yeah, but the pipe beaded (made from a combine bearing race and the end of a 9mm plunger iirc?! ) was welded to the clamps of the original vice for well over 2 years and pissed everyone off incessantly until you got the other vice!!!!!!

RE: Homemade Boost Pipe Beading Tool - mr_fish - 31-10-2013

only pissed everyone off if you had a small job to do...haha
