406 HDI 90/110 - THE_Liam - 30-10-2013

Probably a daft question, but are these engines identical to the 306 HDI? Take the same maps with the same results? Been offered a very cheap 406 estate that could be very handy...

RE: 406 HDI 90/110 - Toms306 - 30-10-2013

Some use a Siemens ECU which isn't easily mappable...

Re: 406 HDI 90/110 - THE_Liam - 31-10-2013

Thanks mate I'll check that out. Any other differences?

RE: 406 HDI 90/110 - Jonny81191 - 31-10-2013

Yeah, the 110 has an intercooler.

Oh, and seimens management is horrible to drive.

Re: 406 HDI 90/110 - THE_Liam - 31-10-2013

So theoretically with a 110 I could just stick a torque restricted stage 2 map on it?

RE: 406 HDI 90/110 - Piggy - 31-10-2013

if its not a siemens.

IIRC a lot of the 110s were siemens

Re: 406 HDI 90/110 - Pete - 31-10-2013

90's are Siemens aswell IIRC

RE: 406 HDI 90/110 - Jonny81191 - 31-10-2013

All the 110's are bosch iirc. The 90's were mostly seimens, certainly the later ones.

ah I got it the wrong way round...I knew it was mostly the one n not the other.
my bad Doh

RE: 406 HDI 90/110 - THE_Liam - 31-10-2013

So it needs to be a 110. Not sure what it is, he just said it's a 2 litre diesel, ruling out either XUD or the 136 HDi...

If it's a 110 I'm quite keen, my dog hates being in the back of the 306, no enough room for him Sad

RE: 406 HDI 90/110 - Toms306 - 31-10-2013

The 136 is also a 2.0HDi, although I didn't know they put those in the 406.

The 136 is a 2.2 mate Wink

My bad, the 2.0 in everything else (307, 407 etc) is 136, but the 2.2 in the 406 is also 136! That's confusing lol.

I think the 136 in the 307 is a 16v, don't quote me on that though...

The 2.0 136 engines are 16v, yeah.
