Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 23-10-2013 My dturbo is turning over but not starting. Could this be to do with fuel delivery and induction? If so, what are the main components to check. Injectors? Pump primer? Fuel filter? Intake? Re: Dturbo starting problems - vlj - 23-10-2013 Are you getting fuel through when you prime it by hand? RE: Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 24-10-2013 I think so, when priming by hand I can hear fuel being drawn through RE: Dturbo starting problems - Piggy - 24-10-2013 does the primer go hard? does it puff out any type of smoke when trying to start? are you running veg or straight diesel? Any symtoms leading up to it not starting? When was last time it was started/driven? RE: Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 24-10-2013 not really, thats what i thought might be wrong, didnt notice any smoke, running standard diesel. car was running perfectly about 4 hours before RE: Dturbo starting problems - Piggy - 24-10-2013 first thing to check would be the solenoid on the pump. make sure when ignition is on it has 12volts. its basically one if the only wires connected to the pump! RE: Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 24-10-2013 okay, is it more than likely a fuel problem? or is there anything else it could be? RE: Dturbo starting problems - Piggy - 24-10-2013 could be a hundred things...but need to start somewhere! RE: Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 24-10-2013 Okay, cheers for the help RE: Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 24-10-2013 Where abouts on the pump is the solenoid? RE: Dturbo starting problems - bigcheez2k3 - 24-10-2013 It's on the back I think, number 10 in this image RE: Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 24-10-2013 Isn't that a Bosch? I'm running lucas RE: Dturbo starting problems - bigcheez2k3 - 24-10-2013 Yep, that is a Bosch. Try Piggy's suggestion as there isn't exactly a massive amount of wiring on the pumps so hard to get it wrong. RE: Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 25-10-2013 Okay, thanks for the help. I spoke to a local mechanic and he said first thing to check is the battery earths, then get onto the stop solenoid. I'm just hoping its not to much of a major problem. RE: Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 25-10-2013 Just had a look at me pump. Is the solenoid on the back of the pump with two wires going into it? RE: Dturbo starting problems - willJspears - 25-10-2013 I've located the solenoid, but having trouble getting to the wire, and figuring out where it leads to. Is there anywhere I can get a wiring diagram? Haynes doesn't really tell me a lot |
