Strange REV counter - clarkey2010 - 21-10-2013 right the Rev counter on the ZX has a mind of its own, some days its stuck at 2000rpm and when you rev the car the needle will rev down not up and other days its totally fine. where would be best to start looking? car itself is a 1.9td xud. cheers Strange REV counter - doogle-d turbo - 23-10-2013 Mine was similar then died completely. Found it was the sensor from the back of the gearbox to under the block behind n/s drive shaft. Only way I could screw it back in was during a gearbox change cuz the drive shaft really gets in the way. Screwed it in (its like a cylinder shape sensor) so was just shy of touching the flywheel and its been fine since. RE: Strange REV counter - zx_volcane - 23-10-2013 As above, sensor is prob not close enough to flywheel There should be room enough to tap it right against the flywheel, then prise it back just a tad with a little screwdriver RE: Strange REV counter - clarkey2010 - 26-10-2013 Ahhh cheers guys, best way get it is up on some ramps then I am guessing? RE: Strange REV counter - silverzx - 26-10-2013 You can get at it if you jack the front of the car up and lie on your back. If you have a beer belly then obviously you'll need to probably put your axle stands on the highest notch. It is a bit of a bitch to access and can take a while to slacken/tighten but its not a hard job. |
