Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2012 It's not bent. It was fitted to a 306 cabby before. I had the same thing with my original you just need to line it all up and bolt it down. Thats a hell of alot of difference Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2012 Thats because it is not unscrewed and at the wront angle. Re: FAO Pompey306mark - cwspellowe - 26-02-2012 The middle of the adjustable bit is a turnbuckle so slacken the lock nuts off and turn the middle part to extend it evenly at both ends. Doesn't look bent to me tbh, just looks like it needs adjusting. Although it should be near enough if it was fitted to a cabby before? Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2012 Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2012 Look at the pics in this thread you can see your centre nut is not adjusted correctly look how are apart it is compared to yours. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1825 Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Grant - 26-02-2012 Pompey306mark Wrote: Thats a different brace though? Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2012 I know, but the one in themy second post is the same as what ginge has. It will fit he just needs to line it all up and then use a bit of force to bolts it down. Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2012 Look at the link in my post after my pic please. Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Dum-Dum - 26-02-2012 My strut brace end plate look like they wont fit (and in truth they dont) but once ive got them bolted down with longer bolts the bolt pulls the plate flat with the strut top and keeps the whole thing in tension. Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2012 So it fits but here are the problems. I think it would sit better on a phase 2 dturbo or hdi. All these struts sit on the brake reservoir cap my old one was the same. Did not do any damage but a pain if you want to get into the reservoir as you have to remove the strut or at least one end. Back up for sale. Re: FAO Pompey306mark - ginge191 - 26-02-2012 as mark said, phase 2/3 have hydraulic lifters which dont obstruct - gay phase 1 Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2012 Also the bonnet is higher so will close better, unlike on the phase 1 cars. Mine closed fine, I know its a slightly different brace, but if you look at my pic it sits in the same place as this one and at the same height. Re: FAO Pompey306mark - bigcheez2k3 - 26-02-2012 Ooh, back for sale Re: FAO Pompey306mark - Pompey306mark - 26-02-2012 Yep will be picking it up from ginge tomorrow morning. |
