Wossner ring gap - Daniel306 - 04-10-2013

I was never really good at maths so can some one help here

My bore is 87mm, the ring gap for both rings should be .006" x Bore

RE: Wossner ring gap - cully - 04-10-2013

87x.006=0.522mm

Ring end gap should be measured with the ring square in the bore on a fresh hone. Cylinder should be free of any taper.

RE: Wossner ring gap - Daniel306 - 04-10-2013

and thats 0.02"?

RE: Wossner ring gap - cully - 04-10-2013

but is the 006 an inperial measurement if it is you need to convert both into the same units

RE: Wossner ring gap - Daniel306 - 04-10-2013

Yes, 86mm and 0.006 Inch

RE: Wossner ring gap - John1.4 - 05-10-2013

i know the actual gap will change but will the 0.006 be the same for all wossner piston rings? got a set here, but no info to go with them Undecided

RE: Wossner ring gap - Daniel306 - 05-10-2013

From there site 0.006 is for forced induction engines

But pug1off says for my engine "If the top rings are chrome shiny ones go 0.48 there and 0.55mm on the iron middle ring."
