Project Shed. - Face. - 22-09-2013 Where to Start. She's a phase 2 DT in white. I bought this off a friend of a friend.the car has seen many owners most have treated this car like a cheap one night stand lol. the car needs a lot work which I'll slowly try and do as money is tight and my lack of knowledge. So far I got it running. There was a massive air leak stopping the car from running. New leak off bung/cap sorted this. It's had a new fuel filter from me old one was clogged. Sorted an oil leak,Rocker cover gasket fixed this. New D seal old one was fooked:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Peugeot-D-Turbo-306-Intercooler-Seal-D-ZX-Xsara-036522-/251329104832?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a8461cbc0 The oil is like tar even when warm! Bad points: Needs new Injector seals, drop links, offside door loom, rear bumper and wings as there denty, alloys refurbished ,headlight loom repaired, new headlights, new glow plugs as these are crap they cost 12 for 4 posted, new door handle, aerial, pump needs adjusting as she's running lean, and a full service including cam-belt and water pump.Probably more as I've most likely forgot something. Car needs the body work sorting but I did wash and wax this before my mate sold it to his friend in Hereford(who I bought it off.)So this has helped. Good: It was cheap. 2 x basically new tires. Full S/S exhaust system. Cyclones. lowered. New Front discs and pads fitted when it was my mates, by us. Drives and stops Have oil + filter, Bosch Duraterms, New battery terminals (as I hate the twist fitting.) here/ on order. I will need help with one! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() http://s290.photobucket.com/user/pumasnake1/media/306%20xud%20phase%202/SAM_0142_zps7ea65c26.jpg.html?sort=3&o=5 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Project Shed. - samass - 22-09-2013 wow, um, it's got a nice engine? ![]() sorry, but apt project title, good luck with it!! RE: Project Shed. - THE_Liam - 23-09-2013 That needs some pretty heavy work doing, glad to see someone saving a knackered one rather than just scrapping it, D-Turbos are starting to get rarer... Re: Project Shed. - WiNgNuTz - 23-09-2013 Certainly got your work cut out there mate! Interesting paint job on the clones, had to look twice to realise what they were! ![]() Good luck with this, will be interested to see what you do with it. ![]() RE: Project Shed. - thefastest1 - 23-09-2013 Woah, a 306dtub in a sorrier state then mine! Kudos ! Will be interesting to see where you go with this ![]() RE: Project Shed. - Face. - 23-09-2013 Gave the car a quick wash, removed most of the red house paint that was covering it.Cleaned all the drain channels and confirmed a source of the leak in the roof. the leak is coming from the aerial base. So will need a new one. Started removing the injectors to put new seals in.But I've had to order a socket so will have to wait till this and the seals/copper washers come. I have ready to be fitted glowies and new leak off pipe, better safe than sorry. for anyone needing a socket for the injectors think this is the one you'll need ![]() Come on pay-day! RE: Project Shed. - me-tm - 23-09-2013 Wow, that's scabby. ![]() RE: Project Shed. - procta - 23-09-2013 a trip down to the local scrappy and your laughing. so half of that list should be thinned right out with in a day. where is the intercooler gone? Well with funds I'd be laughing.local scrapyard's can cost an arm and a leg.Slow and Steady wins the race and all that. Inter-cooler is in the garage. also needs more than I listed here, loads more!Mostly just loads of niggles. RE: Project Shed. - 306Puggy - 23-09-2013 Wow, this car is more tatty than mine and that's saying something! It certainly makes a change from people just giving up when the paint starts to hang, makes for a good sleeper! But yeah, I think we should have a competition for most bashed up/patched up cars on here lol! RE: Project Shed. - procta - 23-09-2013 (23-09-2013, 04:00 PM)Face. Judging by the state of the rest of it I'm expecting rust lol RE: Project Shed. - Matt - 24-09-2013 Christ that is a mess. Judging by the state of the rest of it I'm expecting rust lol Had a quick look(always look when buying)one has a liner and the other it had a liner at some point.it's not to bad as far as I can tell. will get a new liner and under-seal as much as possible at some point. If it needs welding it'll become parts due to the cost. Come to Kington you know you want to lol. (24-09-2013, 11:38 AM)Matt Wrote: Christ that is a mess. RE: Project Shed. - Face. - 27-09-2013 Quick update. Injectors cleaned and new seals they were a bast**d to do. Copper seals were tightened so much, I found rusted rear hub nuts easier! Marked the injector seats a little as I had to hammer the seals out but it's all good. getting the injectors to seal was fiddly but patience won in the end. Also replaced the leak off pipes and bung/cap. Once the fuel system was bled and everything sealed she started on the button. Also quickly degreased/steamed the engine bay a lot better but I'll get it cleaner another day. RE: Project Shed. - Face. - 29-09-2013 Oil vapour hose is cracked so will be getting one from pug come pay day Car needed a bit of gas to start so in went the new plugs. New Glow-plugs are in and new battery terminals. ![]() Old plugs: ![]() New plugs in and start: ![]() RE: Project Shed. - thefastest1 - 29-09-2013 Looking good pal.
