Why?

RE: Sump Swap - Piggy - 17-09-2013

coz one is a 1.8 sump and one is a hdi sump.

different block, different sump.

Sump Swap - Frosty - 17-09-2013

Yeah different blocks but I think you would find it surprising how much of the stuff from different engines bolt on. There's a lot of gearboxes on 306s that bolt onto other engines etc.

A lot of the blocks have the same design on the bottom for the sump. I do need to check to see if it looks the same but the best answer to the question would be someone who has tried it

Your arrogance has no end!
How can you answer without knowing the facts.

Frosty I had a look at work earlier cant see why it shouldn't.
Looks same apart from drain plug on opposite sides.
As long as all the holes line up should be ok

Sump Swap - Frosty - 17-09-2013

Yeah I will have a look with it up against the hdi engine Gary has.

Your ignorance of my knowledge also knows no ends.

I wouldn't call your previous comment knowledge! All you have stated is that 1 is a 1.8 sump and the other is a hdi sump which come off different blocks. That is pretty obvious and was the question asked in the 1st place. But like you jimbo said if your right fair play

RE: Sump Swap - HDIkyle - 17-09-2013

That's like saying a gti sump won't fit a Xud. But there both Xu blocks

RE: Sump Swap - Toms306 - 17-09-2013

A HDi is a DW block... Tongue

I'm pretty sure it's the same sump tbh though...check servicebox, its probably even the same part number....
