Rightt bit of a weird one

the panel on the back of the car that the "peugeot" and "306" badge are on under the boot is this actualy a part of the chassis or can it be removed easily? reason i ask is mine is in very bad condition and very badly chipped/repaired on one side

cheersssssssssssssss

The bit below the lights and the boot lid

No it Dosent come off, I say it Dosent come off anything can be persuaded with a grinder

It's part of the shell unfortunatley

RE: badge panel - adamm306 - 13-09-2013

RE: badge panel - Niall - 13-09-2013

Its not part of the shell but its not really easy to remove. You need to drill out loads of spot welds behind the bumper and on the boot lid lip and break the sealant where it joins the rear quarter panels then it will come off. A new genuine one from pug is actually very cheap apparently!

Edit: Part number 7243 84 and its £47.53

ah thanks Niall Smile how do you search for parts by number online?

And I think ill probably try and repair it first of all with some filler and sand it down to try and make it look even if it turns out shit ill have to bite the bullet and try and fit one. ill post a pic up of it in a bit and to get some opinions

im going to scrappy tomorrow so may take a look at a 306 without the rear bumper and see where it attaches

RE: badge panel - Curt - 13-09-2013

Been damaged before and badly filled... If you were to redo it properly it would look a lot better, can't see it being worth the hassle to replace when it would need painting anyway.

Are those tights...?

RE: badge panel - adamm306 - 13-09-2013

yeah ill sand it back and try and repair it myself cant look any worse than it does now.

and tights? i guess you mean the lights and no its flyeye/spivision

RE: badge panel - adamm306 - 20-09-2013

took the badge off today to see the extent of the damage who ever has repaired this has done a terrible job with filler its all flaky and uneven :/

never really undertaken any bodywork repairs before any suggestions on how i go about sorting this? any ideas appreciated thanks

RE: badge panel - Piggy - 20-09-2013

get some heavy 80grit wet and dry and take it back as far as metal if possible...maybe even want a flap wheel on a grinder.
then get onto:

http://auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=21

and order filler, primer, paint and laquer.

want some masking tape if you dont have it.

then have a gander at this:

http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-2159.html?highlight=smoothing

its about boot smoothing but all the paint/filler etc principles are the same Smile

RE: badge panel - adamm306 - 20-09-2013
