Is it important for rear tyres to be balanced? - THE_Liam - 11-09-2013

Need 2 new tyres but only rears and I'm struggling to find somewhere that does part worns and centreless balancing but a few of the places I've asked have said it doesn't matter on the rear. Opinions?

They say it don't most places but I always prefer to have them done. With solid mounts you feel vibrations tho car aswell

i went to ATS last time i wanted a reballance

It'll vibrate through the chassis instead of the steering wheel, still need to be balanced.

Think I will. The only place I found don't do part worns and wanted £60 a corner for Nankangs fitted and balanced in 195/50/15 which is shocking, and wanted £20 a corner to fit and balance and tyres I supplied them with!

Checked Camskill and they're doing Rainsport 2s for £33.25, tempted to just order 4 and find somewhere to fit them. Camskills fitting centre is in Whitehaven so I'm quite tempted to drive up there on my next day off and get them fitted, good excuse to drive the Cumbrian passes, all in the interests of testing my new tyres you understand whistle

Watch the passes at the moment they're trashed. Potholes eveywhere, I wouldn't go over in anything lower than 40mm
