Hello! - Martin306 - 08-09-2013 Suppose I should introduce myself. I am Martin and I'm from in and around Perth. I've had a standard 306 HDi in the past, and a 405 with a DTurbo, so I'm not new to 306's or the XU engine. I've helped a friend build and destroy a 306 XSi (2.0 16v) lol. Currently I don't own one though as I have a 106 1.5 NAAAAAAAD. Had it Dyno'd at 61.5hp @ 4800 and 84lb.ft @ 1600 So, why am I here? I'm here for the GO-NAD supporters. Sam's car has tempted me too much, and I figured that a small boost would make the car a lot better to drive. Nothing insane though, I'll leave that to him at least it won't be my conrods going ping - I've already been there and done that. Ignore piggy, we all do now you have to see if you can beat chris_90 to boost RE: Hello! - Jimbo - 21-09-2013 Yeah piggy is the forums resident troll! Likes to get his post count up and generally think hes the man RE: Hello! - Martin306 - 21-09-2013 Well, I've got someone from SaxP interested in boosting his NAD as well Just looking for decent parts that's all. The bottom end of the 1.5D is hard to break, Peugeot just forgot to fit the turbo. I'm pretty troll resistant, I'm hard to break. Who cares about post counts these days anyway hahhahahaahhahaha Sam, I think I'm going to boost using the standard Bosch pump with no compensator - I won't have idling problems with that Just to simplify things even more, also trying to be cheap initially just to see what it can do. Need to get my hands on a second 1.5D engine first though I think. Just incase it goes ping, as my backup car has an engine of 4.0 capacity and it's a tad expensive to run 60 miles a day of back roads. RE: Hello! - samass - 21-09-2013 Oh I think I might have been able to break the bottom end.... Sounded like the bottom end was broken when you uploaded that video the other week there lol I remember when I threw a rod in my NAD last year. Good times. If you've broken a rod, I hope it's snapped in the middle. because the fix for that is forged rods Pistons are pretty thick, I think they could take a good beating. To be fair though, you were running more than double standard power. Boosting to 100-120hp will do me fine I think. RE: Hello! - samass - 21-09-2013 RE: Hello! - Martin306 - 21-09-2013 You've spun the bottom end (probably stretched a rod bolt?). I know that noise, the rod hasn't come off yet You won't need a new head though, just regrind the valves. mine was okay and it was hammering like that for 150 mile round trip to glasgow and back. You could see the valve outline on the top of the piston lol p.s when the rod comes off, be prepared to whack your head off the steering wheel when it jams between the crank and the block. RE: Hello! - Eeyore - 02-10-2013 welcome martin. Check out samass turbo NAD! RE: Hello! - Martin306 - 02-10-2013 (02-10-2013, 03:32 PM)SRowell Wrote: welcome martin. Check out samass turbo NAD! Thanks. I have met the go-nad in person at Knockhill. It's a complete shed but character is what makes these cars fun Selling my 106GTi to add to the car fund, and I'll buy a turbo and a decent welder. RE: Hello! - samass - 02-10-2013 Shed??? :O prick!
