slack gear change on 1.4 - GORDON ANDERSON - 05-09-2013

Just bought the car for my daughter 24000 miles on the clock but notice the gear stick seem looser than it should be no problem selecting gears but seems it needs bushing ..what do you experts think thanks

Morning Gordon, welcome to the forum Smile

24,000miles you say? That's incredibly low mileage, where did you find the car?!

The gearchange should feel fairly direct, but does have some slack if the linkages are worn. They are a bit of a pain to get to/change. OEM replacements can be purchased from Peugeot but will probably be fairly expensive.

Upgrades (if you feel the need!) can be had for around the £40-50 mark, but if not properly greased they can rattle which does become annoying after a while...!

It's up to you, but personally if you can still select gears perfectly well I'd leave it as is!!
