crank pulley - vtec power gt - 01-09-2013

Hi I need to replace the crank pulley On my 2001 hdi as mine is starting to break up I think I have read in the past about using a solid one from a 307 can anyone confirm if this is possible that way it will never need doing again thanks.

Thanks for that good to know for future reference. I paid £30 for a brand new rubber one on Ebay when I changed the cam belt so I don't feel too robbed.

Do the 1.6 hdi ones fit or just the 2.0? Like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-3008-1-6-HDI-80KW-09-CRANKSHAFT-CRANK-PULLEY-/251091537256?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a7638cd68

i had one go at around 3k they replaced it under warentte but that bust in less than 3k so got my money back and bought a solid lynx pulley

Slightly related, does anyone know if the idler pulleys are the same size on the gti-6 and hdi? Lynx do a solid set with replacable bearings for the 6 but they didnt know if they would fit a hdi.

Anyone got a link or part number to a solid 307 pulley?

RE: crank pulley - kris_taylor1988 - 30-09-2013

You can get them on euro car parts or car parts for less or gsf. Just enter that you have 307.

Same as. I once had a cheap pulley go within a week and then its replacement go within a couple of months.

Yeah put your hand in your pocket and get something decent. The cheap parts really do suck

RE: crank pulley - Daniel-mcgowan - 19-10-2013

i got a brand new crankshaft pulley for £50 from a place called Euro Parts! Never had a problem with it Smile

RE: crank pulley - C2K - 24-11-2013

Anyone know which 307 one to buy? ECP list a whole load and I think mine is about to buy the farm.

RE: crank pulley - mcglynn - 09-12-2013

a 406 one willl also fit as this is whats on mine (solid, and was already ont he engine when i bought it from a 406)

EDIT: I smell spam ^^

RE: crank pulley - Whodafunk - 15-12-2013

Buy new aswell. Not worth a second hand pulley

RE: crank pulley - mcglynn - 16-12-2013

Second hand solid one will be just as good except a bit of minor wear.
