nos on a derv? - the milkman - 31-08-2013 Ok my mate has nos on hos 300bhp c20ex corsa just wondering if anyone can fit to a xud9 or of its a specialist job? Comments on this and imput please RE: nos on a derv? - Piggy - 31-08-2013 there has been about this recently. it would work well to reduce lag and it would help dramatically to burn off the excess fuel...so it would work well. I believe you would want a dry kit though, not a wet kit. RE: nos on a derv? - Chris_90 - 31-08-2013 Surely the cost involved just for that shot to use in 5 seconds is alot how much is it to fill a bottle Re: RE: Couches - kentiiboii - 31-08-2013 (01-12-2011, 08:30 PM)test Wrote: I can't see your sale couches! You set it at a small amount continuous iirc RE: nos on a derv? - Piggy - 31-08-2013 no you would want a small amount at a set level of boost ideally. so once passed say 50% boost it begins injecting. and its not as expensive as you think...but is more costly than meth/water injection. 50% being just an example! you wouldnt want it while cruising just set so when you give it the beans, it injects it RE: nos on a derv? - puglove - 31-08-2013 Then you could be all like this in you xud woooo RE: nos on a derv? - Piggy - 31-08-2013 yeah man...popping rivets and having 100gears to keep changing down RE: nos on a derv? - lolsteve - 31-08-2013 Should be feasible, apparently the k series react quite nicely to NOS but can't think of a chavier performance upgrade than saying I have NOS Would the idea be to use as big a blower as possible then nos to balance out the lack of boost at lower revs? RE: nos on a derv? - the milkman - 31-08-2013 Yea wouldnt be like a daily use kinda thing round town ect but would be nice for track days and the occasional twistie sesh. Anyone know how it is if you can shut a valve off or at the tank its still perfectly fine to drive right? RE: nos on a derv? - Tom - 31-08-2013 But surely to get your moneys worth the car would have to be tuned harder running NOS, then if you shut it off it'll be coaly as f*ck? RE: nos on a derv? - the milkman - 31-08-2013 Well im gonna get a new lump give it a rebuild. Just throw some hdi rods in and thats about the extent of it lol and if it blows a hole in the block or shits it self I know nos is a bad idea lol this may not happen as ive not looked to much into it was a pissed up idea more than anything so gonna do some research into it RE: nos on a derv? - Slam Wagon - 31-08-2013 Propane fumigation/injection may be something you want to look into aswell. RE: nos on a derv? - HDIkyle - 31-08-2013 Did DumDum not use this? Sure its ment to give better results on a diesel than petrol RE: nos on a derv? - Piggy - 31-08-2013 he still has the kit unused RE: nos on a derv? - the milkman - 01-09-2013 Thanks piggy just messaged him now. What are people thoughts on this btw? Need to look into it but in no rush got like 30weeks haha RE: nos on a derv? - Matt - 01-09-2013 (31-08-2013, 06:57 AM)kentiiboii Wrote:(01-12-2011, 08:30 PM)test Wrote: I can't see your sale couches! Errrrrrr what did you even quote? RE: nos on a derv? - darrenjlobb - 01-09-2013 Nitrous will give MASSIVE gains....its like free boost without stress / nicking power.... RE: nos on a derv? - Dum-Dum - 01-09-2013 There is so much to write on this subject but long story short on the XUD you need your pump set up to be able to give the fueling to match as you cant just use a wet kit to spray extra fuel down the inlet or you'll get detonation. IMO best time to use it is to help spool the turbo when the fuel pump would be trying to bog as the nos will help burn it. RE: nos on a derv? - k3ogh - 01-09-2013 It would spit a rod in no time ! RE: nos on a derv? - the milkman - 01-09-2013 I reckon id blow a hole in the block before spitting a rod to be honest. Also I assume temp managments gonna have to be sorted out to cope with nos right? RE: nos on a derv? - Dave - 01-09-2013 Just get a decent VNT in my opinion. NOS is good for reducing lagg, which a VNT does quite happily :p RE: nos on a derv? - Eeyore - 01-09-2013 (31-08-2013, 07:54 AM)puglove Wrote: Then you could be all like this in you xud woooo i havent seen that short before! lols! RE: nos on a derv? - darrenjlobb - 01-09-2013 Snorting gas is just cheating really, I think personally the tuning is all about making power on pump diesel and diesel alone, the water meths used to irritate me somewhat, but used to justify it given its for cooling really not fueling, but nos is just an easy way out...but that said, its an epic tool for naughty numbers, but day to day, totally impraticle / expensive. You'll lift the head, shit rods, splinter drive shafts and melt pistons before you start blowing holes in the block dude. You will need to improve the cooling to match as you would with any similar power increase, shouldn't be too awful though as nitrous used as suggested works more like an intercooler. |
