hydraulic clutch - Piggy - 28-08-2013 theres no 'transmission etc' section... so this thread is going in here Has anyone tried to retro fit a hydraulic clutch?? Looking at it, its not all that tricky. Would need a late 406hdi bell housing, as they have a hydraulic clutch fitted. then the real issue is the master. Either trying to make a 406/206 pedal and master fit or a universal (or again a 406/206 flipped round) one fitted inside the car under the dash just wondered if it been tried??? I know from experience if you put new clutch arm bearings in and grease them, and use a new cable you can get a nice light clutch but I am thinking ahead to when I got uprated with the clutch...been recommended to go hydraulic so a much heavier cover plate can be fitted to the clutch. RE: hydraulic clutch - swampy - 28-08-2013 Search for people that do the v6 conversion. Sure they have to use a hydraulic clutch RE: hydraulic clutch - Piggy - 28-08-2013 ah thats a good call! RE: hydraulic clutch - Seb_Ryan - 28-08-2013 Or just do like they do in kit cars, id imagine it would be much easier, should be able to fit that under there somewhere? RE: hydraulic clutch - Piggy - 28-08-2013 yeah but I dont wana go pedal box route. too complex and you lose the servo. plus you have sit much furthet back RE: hydraulic clutch - Seb_Ryan - 28-08-2013 Just get the cylinders and adapt it onto Pedal? Ive got a single clutch pedal in our kitcar with hydraulic clutch RE: hydraulic clutch - Jenkosowls - 28-08-2013 Ideally it should have been something you considered before dropping engine in. Wouldn't be all that hard to do currently doing a hydraulic setup on the racer although easier as its open and on a bench lol You'll probably be better off with a kit car remote reservoir type RE: hydraulic clutch - Piggy - 28-08-2013 yeah but time and money say no. be long term thought. need to uprate clutch anyway so box will have to come out RE: hydraulic clutch - Jenkosowls - 28-08-2013 You'd be able to mount the actual clutch lever mech on a spare box make a bracket adapt the exsisting arm. It's how you mount the pedal ram for it that'll be the problem it's tight both engine bay and up in the dash RE: hydraulic clutch - Piggy - 28-08-2013 exhaust pipe between mani and turbo comes off easy enough...that gives me loads room back there! |
