Today i noticed i have a whine through my speakers (amped) which gets higher in pitch with the revs. Not quite sure what it is tbh! Anyone got any ideas on how to stop it because its driving me bloody insane Sad

RE: Interference - cully - 16-08-2013

thats the Alternator
check your battery and earth connections if that dont help
add a 2uf supresion capacitor across the + at the alternator and ground

from the stereo down the passenger side. Its only just started and i havent disturbed any wires in ages though.

Can you answer my central locking problem now pweeeeese cully? <3

RE: Interference - cully - 16-08-2013

i expect you will get the same noise from the windscreen wiper motor and maybe the cabin fan or even the fuel pump
you might have to fit supressors to each if you have a sensative amp

But why would it suddenly start. Unless the amp is on the blink? Can i not fit a suppressor to the amp?

you need to supress the source of the noise!

you could try fitting ferrite coils to the amp signal wires as they are the ones picking up the interferance

ferite coils being the same thing thats moulded to computer monitor video cables

and grunt ive replyed Big Grin

RE: Interference - Niall - 16-08-2013

Not a bad idea. Lucky ive got loads of them from work last week Wink
Cheers x

RE: Interference - cully - 26-08-2013

Did you fix the noise?

RE: Interference - Niall - 26-08-2013

Cars been off the road for a while so havent tried yet. Got a few ferrite coils from work so will try them at some point today. Not sure if i will fit the rca through the coil though Sad
