Hub identification? - RhysBoost - 15-08-2013

Right basically looking to replace my hubs soon and how do I tell wether I have 18mm or 16mm? Cheers in advance!

RE: Hub identification? - adamm306 - 15-08-2013

you measure it and see if its 16mm or 18mm

RE: Hub identification? - Mattcheese31 - 15-08-2013

generally phase 1 tends to be 16mm, phase 2 either or and phase3 18mm Smile

RE: Hub identification? - RhysBoost - 15-08-2013

Cheers man and might sound stupid but where am I meant to be measuring?

RE: Hub identification? - Mattcheese31 - 15-08-2013

the part of the lower balljoint that enters the hub....i'd just get both and just ask if u can take the wrong ones back...you'll know after that Smile

so wrong!

My phase 1 is 18mm and the phase 3 I have is 16mm!

According to motor factor books it used to be based on PAS or non PAS...but that hasnt fitted in my experience either

its french there will be no logic to this just measure it or as matt said buy 2 sets and take 1 back

RE: Hub identification? - titch - 15-08-2013

Another problem, is you don't know if a previous owner has changed the hub in the past and might of put a different size on, i am sure i have read a post where someone has had a 16mm on one side and an 18mm on the other.

So as above measure them, or buy both and return the unused ones.

no that's my experience in the 5 years i've been working on them, yours may be different, i'd be interested in what other people have found GENERALLY speaking . .lol

RE: Hub identification? - Niall - 15-08-2013

its not related to PAS as all ph2s and 3s had PAS yet it was a gamble which size you got on a ph2
