Video: Heel & Toe - Ed Doe - 12-08-2013

Just thought I'd post this up:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdWSyrqEnE4

It's like he's dancing on the pedals, so epic Big Grin

And one last thing, I'll be seriously impressed if anyone can tell me why he's left foot braking.... Tongue

Ruan you probably know because you just know everything, so keep quiet for a bit Tongue

RE: Video: Heel & Toe - C.A.R. - 12-08-2013

Hmmm why would he left foot brake...?

Is he keeping temperature in the brakes?

Or is he trying to fool the driver behind into thinking he is braking earlier than he actually is? I like to use this technique on the motorway to scare tailgaters!

RE: Video: Heel & Toe - tigerstyle - 12-08-2013

He's tapping the brake pedal with his left foot to 'prime' the brakes ready for a big stop, drivers will do this to ensure the brakes first of all are still working (they'll get even 0.1% of a feeling from that quick stab) and also to seat the pads up close to the disk ready for the big stop. Saves time and builds confidence.

Ok, big clue, is he left foot braking? Tongue

It's not to do with temperatures, or 'ghost braking' for the benefit of people behind. If you'd watched v8 supercars, you would know they don't pussy about, if someone brakes too early, they literally become the braking zone...!!

I would say, but as this is a public domain, I would have every security agency from MI6 and the FBI to LIDL's security turning up at my door....

I spent at least 5minutes looking for "about as subtle as a brick through a window meme" on google....

RE: Video: Heel & Toe - Poodle - 13-08-2013

Rofl

Would have been hilarious, but totally cba lol.

RE: Video: Heel & Toe - Tom - 13-08-2013

Why is it some gear changes he uses the clutch and others he doesnt? This is a genuine question lol

RE: Video: Heel & Toe - Piggy - 13-08-2013

he uses clutch for 1st and 2nd only due to torque transfer ruining the drive plate in those gears...imo

RE: Video: Heel & Toe - Rippthrough - 14-08-2013

He's left foot braking because his brake engineer is shit?
The clutch for the lower gears is because the gearchange takes longer in the lower gears due to the larger gear spacing and gearbox inertia, it's probably slow enough for him to kick the clutch to help reduce dog wear, with the faster changes further up the box you'd just wear the clutch and take longer to change gear (increasing wear on the dogs), so you don't bother.
