PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - cwspellowe - 30-07-2013

Right guys, now the dust has settled from FCS which we'll all agree was a massive success, the next on the calendar (especially for us Northerners) is Knockhill on Sunday 18th August for French Car Day. Same day as was held there in September last year, but been brought forwards by a month to hopefully benefit from better weather.

Last year Carl and Jonny appeared and, while it was nice seeing other OC members there, I didn't really know them that well at the time, so this year it would be most excellent if more people could attend. I appreciate it's only a few weeks after FCS and some wallets will still be hurting, I know mine is, but there's not many meets up this way and this is the perfect excuse to have a wee gathering.

Here's the location of Knockhill, post code is KY12 9TF, about half an hour over the Forth Road Bridge from Edinburgh. If coming from the South, you're best using the A1 or A68, round the city bypass, and up the M8 a junction until hitting the M9, then the M90. If convoying we could arrange to meet at Harthill Services which is near the M8/M9 junction.

And the layout of the track/paddock

Last year there was enough to do and plenty of cars got on track, speaking with Mark it sounds like he's trying to make it bigger and better this year, although plans are TBA.

If anyone needs to crash here for the weekend I can happily let people stay Saturday night before the event, but i'm working Monday morning so can't really accommodate after the show.

Hopefully we can get a decent number attending as if last year's anything to go by there were awards for the Meguiar's Top 15 and Club Stand of the Show among others, so let's get OC represented up here too and get the club more recognition with PFC and the French Car Scene.

I'm going. Anyone else?

1. cwspellowe + Linzi + Phoenix

Cost us £120 on a mix of veg and diesel to do the FCS round trip. That's in a tank with a LOT of luggage and passengers. In a 205 and on purely veg you could do it in under £100 easy, share with someone and it starts to look pretty cheap. Plus I have space here if you want to camp/floorshare Sat night?

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - Dum-Dum - 30-07-2013

I'd love to but its 2 days before I get paid and I'm skint already.
I'ts a shame really as I could stay at my parents other house.

Its 411 to my parents then from there 83 to knockhill so 494 each way. 700miles is £90 so 1000 miles is £130 in diesel.

So tempted to try and borrow the money. Does anyone want to come with me?

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - Jonny81191 - 30-07-2013

I'll give you a lift from my place chris?

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - Just Sean - 30-07-2013

I really wanna go in the 6!

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - cwspellowe - 30-07-2013

Yeahhh, everyone should come.

It's smaller than FCS obviously but with the right group of people it should be a hoot.

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - Just Sean - 30-07-2013

If I can't fond someone to carshare with me, would anyone wanna give me a lift?

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - Dum-Dum - 30-07-2013

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - Just Sean - 30-07-2013

I have a new lift pump in the garage for when it stops raining.

Have you seen the price of track time? £55 for a 10 min session, f*ck that.

Yeah do it man. I'm not promising I'll be there but if we get a stand it would be awesome.

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - Just Sean - 30-07-2013

It would be irrelevant for you anyways. Here is the basic checklist:
No oil, fuel or any other fluid leaks, ensure vehicle has all wheel nuts, brake lights must work (cars with no brake lights cannot go on track), battery must be secured properly, seat belt mounting must be secure, seat must be secure and please remove any old scrutineering stickers

I believe you would fail on most of those Tongue

Are you sure that is correct though. I can't see where it explains how the sessions are broken down. I'll give them a call tomorrow, because that just sounds ridiculous!

Yeah... why not.. only £200 in the 6

But.... £55 for 10 mins tracktime? that can actually get f*cked.

Although, i still might attend should be a right laugh, its a bit of a downer to spend all that money getting there/back but not go on track Sad

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - Anton - 30-07-2013

I'm up for this after missing Pugfest and FCS for various reasons.

Don't mind driving and offering a share or jumping in someone elses car.

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - samass - 30-07-2013

No oil leaks? That's okay, I can't afford track time anyway! I'll just leave it all over the car park Big Grin

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - the milkman - 30-07-2013

Is this a one/two day thing? Hmmm any southern lot wanna detour to manchester for some fuel money Angel

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - lolsteve - 30-07-2013

Wouldn't be too bad if I was back at uni then..im not sadly

Re: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - THE_Liam - 30-07-2013

If it wasn't the Scarborough meet the weekend after then a holiday in Cornwall the week after I'd be on this like samass on a mans anus, however, I'm f*cking skint Sad

RE: PFC at Knockhill, Sunday 18th August - Hayden Walker - 31-07-2013
