exhaust Q - padge - 24-07-2013

if you were to make your own exhaust by buying pipe in sections, what angle/lengths would you need? not including the downpipe.

RE: exhaust Q - Piggy - 24-07-2013

I think you would need to layout a std exhaust and measure it all mate.
bit of your time and a pen/paper and tape!

RE: exhaust Q - padge - 24-07-2013

I know dum dum has done it, but he used 3" bore

You need the following (for an estate, assume the same for a sedan?)

2m straight pipe (you only need 95cm IIRC for the main centre section, but it's worth having the spare for the back etc..)
1x 45* bend
2x 60* bends
1 15cm flexi section
1x welded 90* tight radius bend (if you have a tdo4 or similar with a side facing exit)
a backbox of some sort.

Top one is off my estate with a rear exit GT20, the bottom one is off Carl's sigma TD04 XUD

RE: exhaust Q - c.gerrard - 24-07-2013

Thought you were having one made up?

I think all you would need would be two 60 degree bends and we could only get the straight pipe in 2 meter lengths with some left over, so not sure exactly how much you would need.

I'd double check the angles, as I can't remember exactly lol

RE: exhaust Q - Jonny81191 - 24-07-2013

My list is correct, just checked the part numbers

It is also worth buying a mandrel bent 90* to chop up to make small bends where needed. or if you're not that fussed about flow you can just cut pipes at an angle.

RE: exhaust Q - padge - 24-07-2013

I only want it from the downpipe, as I already have a downpipe made, just need the rest onwards to the back.

RE: exhaust Q - Jonny81191 - 24-07-2013

In that case, 2x60* bends, about 1m pipe, and a box.

RE: exhaust Q - padge - 24-07-2013

don't want a box Tongue so 2m pipe, how much of the 60* bends will I need?

RE: exhaust Q - Jonny81191 - 25-07-2013

Erm, all of them? as in both?

RE: exhaust Q - padge - 25-07-2013

length

RE: exhaust Q - padge - 27-07-2013

just to clarify, standard xud exhaust is 2" right?

RE: exhaust Q - martyn92 - 27-07-2013

Think it goes less than that in places.
How much did that cost you roughly Jonny?
