Went out and bought a second hand canon 1000d yesterday. Paid a fraction of what it's worth, and just did a shutter count on it. 363
hock: So it may as well be new!
Really chuffed, just need to get some pictures now

It tells you how many times the shutter has been used (the number of pictures it has ever taken)

Thats pretty decent! When I bought my D3100 it was a year old, £200 less that RRP and only had like 800 actuations, beautiful
(It has around 2500 actuations now, in only 2 months, ooops )

My 40D recently ticked over 115k actuations and is still going strong
