Not dum dum Tongue

Going to mount some gauges above the CD player, is there any way to run the wires in the dash with doing a dum dum an drilling holes in it?

RE: Advice - Piggy - 15-07-2013

bit confused as to your question Matt?!

you mean putting gauge pods on top of the dash above the vents? or where the vents are?!

RE: Advice - Ed Doe - 15-07-2013

What gauges are you mounting? An inbred-ometer for driving through Ryde on a Friday night? Tongue

RE: Advice - Matt - 15-07-2013

Yep in pods above the CD player. On top of the dash not in the vents

Fuuuuuuuuu ed

RE: Advice - cwspellowe - 15-07-2013

Well.. yeah, course there is. Just take out the centre console and dash clocks for better access.

RE: Advice - Matt - 15-07-2013

Lol, I know to take all the shit out, but is there a way to get from outside the dash (top) to inside the dash? Without drilling a hole straight through.

Can I go through the vents at the bottom? Or does that go off in a different direction?

RE: Advice - cwspellowe - 15-07-2013

Wait.. what? Do you want the gauges in the dash or out?

RE: Advice - Matt - 15-07-2013

Out lol, I've got a 3 gauge pod to stick on top of the dash lol

RE: Advice - cwspellowe - 15-07-2013

Just stick them through the top vent then, might look pikey but not as pikey as a jubilee clip on the dash

RE: Advice - Matt - 15-07-2013

Looks like I might have too :/ something I didn't want to do.

It's going to be three sets of wires, going too look well pikey.

May just have to drill it if there is no other way

RE: Advice - Piggy - 15-07-2013

Why not have a hole in the dash, under the pods, for the wires?
Thus once the pods on on, they will cover the hole?

PS...pics when done...I'm still toying with this idea, but ideally would like 3 pods, at an angle towards driver...not sure what you got!

RE: Advice - Matt - 15-07-2013

Yep that's my plan, triple pod angled towards driver. Going to put inline switches on the +ve so I can manually turn the lights on and off, so when it's night I can turn them off if they annoy me.

And drilling a hole I really want to avoid. As when I take the pod off there will be a nasty hole and new buyers don't like holes in dashes

RE: Advice - Piggy - 15-07-2013

well apart from using magic, I dont quite see how you imagine to do it!

you will need to screw down the pods anyway!

RE: Advice - Matt - 15-07-2013

Yeah I was hoping there was a way, maybe wires down the back of the dash or something.

Screws are for pussies. It's all about double sides number plate foam lmao

RE: Advice - Piggy - 15-07-2013

anodised screws are for win

RE: Advice - Matt - 15-07-2013

Wait whut?

Think mine are consealed. So wouldn't see shit lol

RE: Advice - Mattcheese31 - 15-07-2013

relocate HU to ashtray area and put pods in its place noob! ffs /thread Big Grin

RE: Advice - Matt - 15-07-2013
