That's all I know haha RE: Starlet glanza - Danny2009 - 14-07-2013 I have quite a soft spot for the glanza Starlet glanza - Jukie88 - 14-07-2013 (13-07-2013, 11:01 PM)Jenkosowls Wrote:(13-07-2013, 08:37 PM)Jukie88 Wrote: right lads finally decided to get rid of the fiesta st and am getting this at the end of the month :-) has a bunch of Hks goodies chappy says its running 220bhp it's really not done a little research and max is 180 from standard turbo anyone had any experience with these ?? This is my first jap car so little but excited :-) This has infect happened, looking at a trd replacement :-) RE: Starlet glanza - 306Puggy - 14-07-2013 Question, is the Glanza just the Japanese import version of the Starlet turbo? A quick Google doesn't return any results. But yeah, these things do look interesting, but they are too small for my liking! RE: Starlet glanza - 306Puggy - 14-07-2013 No they are both Toyotas. Nissan did the Cherry which was also had a turbo version though. Edit: It was actually the Charade which was the turbo, these cars are all so similiar lol. RE: Starlet glanza - bayley - 14-07-2013 i know they go like f*ck with a td04 on and all the jap cars ive had {4} never had any issues, strong engines too.i would love that mate, buy it.my mate had a vw golf vr6 and one of these blew past him like he was standing still, lol. RE: Starlet glanza - ConorTRG - 14-07-2013 Good wee cars these, if your looking to go over the 200bhp mark you'll be into changing turbos, fmic, forging etc. I'd go for a good suspension setup as well, coilovers are a great option but there dear enough for them, some of the lowering springs available for them are to weak and leave it handling badly imo. Keep it well serviced aswell. RE: Starlet glanza - cwspellowe - 14-07-2013 Sorry but they're one of the chavviest cars known to man. Fact is, every owner i've met has tried to have the "people don't believe it's 1.3" and "it eats 106 GTi's for breakfast" conversations with me Won't deny they go like shit off a shovel but they have me thoroughly "meh"... RE: Starlet glanza - puglove - 14-07-2013 Girls cars!!! massively massively over rated and don't live up to the hype IMO RE: Starlet glanza - Mrs puglove - 14-07-2013 They are both starlets with the glanza as the spec....was really wanting one but refused to pay the price for what it is.went in one at the Weston meet and was surprised how quick it was RE: Starlet glanza - Dum-Dum - 14-07-2013 (14-07-2013, 03:29 PM)cwspellowe Wrote: Sorry but they're one of the chavviest cars known to man. They are thoroughly meh. Standard they are GTi fast but without the fun handling good look or being a car you could take your nan out in. Yes they are quite tunable but only cos its jap scrap so there is loads of bits made for them. IMO there is only one jap hatch of that era thats acceptable to own and thats the Sunny Pulsar GT-R. 2.0 Turbo (200sx engine) 4WD in a gti6 size/weight package. Id own one over a scooby. TAKE THAT BACK, FUCKNUGGET RE: Starlet glanza - Dicky - 14-07-2013 Mate has a TD05 one which is 325bhp and like 290lbft Starlet glanza - Bananalad - 14-07-2013 (14-07-2013, 08:38 AM)4WayDiablo Wrote:(14-07-2013, 07:18 AM)306Puggy Wrote: Question, is the Glanza just the Japanese import version of the Starlet turbo? That's like saying Citroen 306 ha Starlet glanza - Jukie88 - 14-07-2013 It's got a bunch of Hks goodies and decent coilies camber adjustment but still on the ct9 turbk already looked at scooby turbo in looking at around 200/220bho thatlt do me nicely for a weekend toy :-) but the pig will get finished first RE: Starlet glanza - ConorTRG - 14-07-2013 I dont think stock internals would like much over 200bhp. Starlet glanza - Jukie88 - 14-07-2013 Think if you keep sensible boost they can take upto 180 on standard turbo anything over than I've been told by owners club that tdo4 is needed and stock internals of looked after and treated with abit of respect are good for about 230 ish before I need to start spending money on forged parts :-) RE: Starlet glanza - ConorTRG - 14-07-2013 Not to bad then, never researched it that much to see exactly how far you could go, good luck with it anyway. RE: Starlet glanza - Midnightclub - 15-07-2013 Mehh, if you pop a rod it's just an excuse for a paseo 1.5 bottom end RE: Starlet glanza - silverzx - 15-07-2013 (14-07-2013, 05:39 PM)Mrs puglove Wrote: They are both starlets with the glanza as the spec....was really wanting one but refused to pay the price for what it is.went in one at the Weston meet and was surprised how quick it was That was Brendon's. Starlet glanza - Jukie88 - 15-07-2013 Man I love these cars been doing alot of research :-) I'm looking forward to getting it :-) !!!!! |
