Spare wheel - ADV_93 - 13-07-2013 My 306 has cyclones (15 inch) on it, but the spare wheel in the carrier underneath the car is a Harrier (14 inch) I ordered 2 new tyres for my car a few days ago that still haven't arrived and i'm considering putting on the spare wheel in the mean time (which is in good condition). However the problem is, can i stick the harrier on my car and drive it or is it illegal? Thanks! Spare wheel - Frosty - 13-07-2013 It should be fine to drive just might feel a bit strange I guess RE: Spare wheel - Jimbo - 13-07-2013 The overall size of a harrier and its tire will probably match the cyclones anyway due to tyre size RE: Spare wheel - Dum-Dum - 14-07-2013 I've completely forgotten the rules but if you treat it as a space saver and don't give it the beans you'll be fine. RE: Spare wheel - Piggy - 14-07-2013 it will be ok...but if you use it for more than traveling to a repair station, it is technically illegal and invalidates your insurance. each axle must have the same size wheel/tyre size basically...unless using a spare or space-saver in an emergency to transport the car to a repair station. RE: Spare wheel - ADV_93 - 16-07-2013 Cheers for the feedback folks! Got 2 new tyres fitted today and the mechanic said spacesaver can be any size and should only really be used to get you out of the s**t |
