Avo coilovers - Ben - 08-07-2013

Does anybody know if there will be any difference except spring rate between the Avo's for a 1.9dt and a Gti?

I'm thinking of getting some with the intention of using them on my dt and then transferring them over to a track Gti/Rallye when I eventually get one.

Obviously don't want to get the DT ones if they would be useless on the Gti but if I only had to change the springs I can't imagine they are too expensive?

Why not buy the gti ones? Will be setup perfect then. And they should be fine on the dt

You can specify any spring rate, spring length and whether or not they use a helper spring when you buy them direct from AVO.

For me, a 6" 350lb spring with a 3" 150lb helper works brilliantly!

Would be too harsh on the DT, they must come with different springs for a reason.

Cheers James, so you think the only difference would be the springs? I'll see how much they are direct from Avo compared to that website.
I think 350lb springs would be a bit much for a DT road car! When I get a gti track car I'll be looking to change them to something like that.
