Don't know mate

RE: Rich W/Lynx Hdi crank pulley - Danny2009 - 12-07-2013

What's the advantage over standard apart from its lighter and shiny Smile

RE: Rich W/Lynx Hdi crank pulley - cully - 12-07-2013

shouldnt have marks in the pulley looks like the cambelt has been eating the pulley

RE: Rich W/Lynx Hdi crank pulley - luke306rallye - 12-07-2013

Lasts longer than a standard pulley that break up.
Yeah the cambelt has done that to it.

RE: Rich W/Lynx Hdi crank pulley - Ed Doe - 12-07-2013

The advantages are that the stock Gti6 pulley is an inner pulley and an outer 'donut' of metal, joined together with rubber. The rubber perishes over time and causes the pulley to slip round. Come cambelt time, because you lock the crank off with the timing hole (as can be seen on on the above pulley), if you don't try to lock it off at the cams as well as the pulley, you wont realise that the pulley has slipped, and you'll time the engine up incorrectly and kill it!

Also, it's cheaper than an OEM replacement if you discover it's failed already...

Most importantly though, it's lighter and shinier! Tongue

RE: Rich W/Lynx Hdi crank pulley - cully - 12-07-2013

and eds missed the point!
its a HDI pulley without the locking pin hole as they are locked at the flywheel

lol!
