Powerflex wishbones - titch - 29-06-2013

Got my spare set of wishbones with the powerflex front bush and P bushes fitted , going to be fitting them to the car some time in the next week, but have read that the front bush can be a pain in the arse to get in the subframe as the powerflex ones are thicker.
Anyone fitted them before and have any hints or tips on the best way to do it ?

Cheers Titch

Yes they are bloody awkward, what I did was bend the metal part of the subframe out and then twatted it back once they were in. Ive heard of people using things like paint scrapers to help get them in

Cheers for the reply mate.

Thats exactly what i was thinking, but the paint scraper sounds like a good idea.

Yeah bend the fucker then hammer back, that's what I'd do

Paint scrapers and loads of lube and a hammer. Sorted!

I went for the paint scraper method, was a lot easier with two people mind. The other way seems a bit dodgy to me, that's a main mounting point for the suspension, i personally wouldn't want to be weakening it like that.

Finally got round to fitting these today, it was a job i had been putting off for ages, but i don't know what i was worrying about, i used the 2 paint scraper method and loads of grease and they went in nice and easy, it was a lot easier as mentioned above as i had a mate helping .
